Hassan Joho, Alfred Mutua, Peter Munya Headed For Victory

If elections were held today, three governors Hassan Joho for Mombasa County, Alfred Mutua for Machakos County and Peter Munya for Meru County would easily retain their seats. This is according to the latest scientific poll conducted by Trends & Insights For Africa (TIFA) Research Ltd.
Former chairman of the Council of Governors Peter Munya would defeat his arch rival Kiraitu Murungi despite the support Kiraitu Murungi enjoys from the president and his deputy, Senator aspirant Mithika Linturi and  other MPs. The incumbent governor enjoys a popularity rate of 47% against Kiraitu's 39%. Kinoti Gatobi and Kilemi Mwiria trail behind undecided voters who stand at 7%.

In Machakos County, the free publicity that came with court cases against Wavinya did not really pay off as she is still tailing Alfred Mutua by a huge margin. The incumbent stands at 59% against Wavinya Ndeti's 35%. That is a whooping difference of 24%. Even if all the remaining candidates and undecided voters were to back Wavinya, she would still lose to Mutua. This is a race being monitored closely as it will determine the future of Kalonzo Musyoka in Ukambani politics.

Bernard Kiala has seen withdrawn his candidature to concentrate on campaigning for Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.
In Mombasa County, the next governor is Ali Hassan Joho. The deputy party leader of Orange Democratic Movement is headed for a landslide victory over his rivals. His victory will be contributed to by the public spats he has had with the president. He also enjoys a cordial relationship with Raila Odinga.
