Babu Owino Was Threatened With Mercury Injection If He Did Not Apologise Facing Mount Kenya

Embattled Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has come out to narrate the ordeal he went through during his stay in Pangani and Kileleshwa police station cells after allegedly abusing the president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during a heated interview with Jeff Koinange and Jalas on Hot 96, he said he was forced to sleep standing in Pangani police station after his cell was deliberately flooded with water. The cell had more than 30 people.
The cell had dread locked individuals who he believed were part of the Nairobi business community. They told him they had been sent by the OCS to harm him but did not execute the plan because they knew Babu Owino as a fighter for the people.
He was later driven deep into the forest at night and held there for more than an hour. People he believes could have been from the Criminal Investigations Department told him to apologize facing Mt Kenya. Failure to do so would force them to inject him with mercury. He refused.
Babu Owino then served time at Kileleshwa  police station where the OCS brought in underage street kids who had been instructed to shout "Babu Must Go".
Babu Owino has since been released from police custody and is facing two court cases one of which he has attended its mentioning. He is being charged with subversion and denying a voter their right to vote.
An aftermath of his arrest and release is the closure of the University of Nairobi after unrest and police brutality that rocked the institution.
