End Of An Era: Robert Mugabe's Reign Comes To A Painful Halt

Robert "Uncle Bob" Mugabe's 37 year old love relationship with Zimbabwe has ended with a bitter divorce. 
The 93 years old ruler's resignation letter was read by the speaker of Zimbabwe's parliament amid cheers from the members of parliament who were in the chambers. Soon word came out and citizens of Zimbabwe took to the streets of Harare to celebrate the end of a regime that had constantly made it hard for them to fight poverty and disease.

Mugabe's letter suggested he had resigned voluntarily to allow smooth transition of power.
Many saw this as a move to save face and avoid the humiliation of having to be impeached from a seat he had held for a period spanning over three decades.
The events that culminated in resignation had almost everything to do with his wife's ruthless ambitions. She positioned herself to take over from Mugabe's whose time in government and in the world were becoming limited by each passing days.
