How To Spot A Kenyan "Selling" On Instagram

Make no mistake that the only girl selling is she that bears the cold nights in Koinange Street waiting for you to lower down your car window. The oldest trade in the world has moved shop. And its happening right here in Kenya too. The spas and massage parlors are offering services with a happy ending. And not all eCommerce websites are selling headphones and antiviruses.
The commercial sex workers are making a killing in the internet. From the safety of their beds at home. But there is a new frontier. A kind of prostitution that did not even exist before the players invented it. Instagram. Yes. Instagram. Tonnes and tonnes of women, and men, are using Instagram to attract potential customers. And its not just your average prostitute who makes it obvious on their bio. It could be the person you least expect. Here is how to spot a Kenyan prostitute on Instagram, for educational purposes only.
  • Twerk videos
The lady has several twerk videos on her timeline. The videos are done professionally. And in scanty dressing. This is the signalling theory of marketing. She is transmitting information to potential customers by means of action.  These ladies never miss an opportunity to show off some bum in some swimwear or hot bikinis. Look no further.
  • Contact details in bio
This man or woman is not in any kind of business. At least known to people that follow them. Their posts are not related to anything you would seek clarification for. But on their bio there is an email address, a phone number and/or a link to their Snapchat. While this may be a way of popularizing their other social media accounts, these are great pointers to something more. If they indicate that you can DM them, be 100% sure they are selling.
  •  Midweek "vacation" trips
On Monday they were off to the coast. And there are beach photos that come with it. Lots of pictures. They came back and somehow managed to go to Naivasha and now lodging pictures are littering their timelines. It could be in January or August. It doesn't matter. Such a man or woman has no job. How do they manage to fund these trips? Now we have some of them in Dubai and Nigeria.

When contacting them, be sure to use a fake Instagram account. Gauge their interest. You will be surprised by the response. But be safe. They have a habit of taking edited screenshots when the deal goes wrong. You could find yourself in a twisted situation. You know the Kenyans' love for such stories.
In marketing, there is a concept called assuming the sale. You assume that the outcome of your conversation will be exactly as you desired. If I wanted to sell you a phone, instead of asking you whether you want to buy it or not, I would assume the sale has been made and ask you which one I should wrap. The gold plated one or the silver one. Apply the same concept with the Instagram hunnies. Ask them when and where you should meet and the terms of the meeting.
Save yourself the trip to Koinange Street.

Why Miraa Will Never Be Exported To Britain Again

Britain has maintained the ban on miraa will stay despite the massive lobbying that has been carried out by Kenya to try and convince them to lift the ban. British High Commissioner Nic Hailey said he regrets there was nothing that could be done to revert the current situation.

Britain has maintained the ban on miraa will stay despite the massive lobbying that has been carried out by Kenya to try and convince them to lift the ban. British High Commissioner Nic Hailey said he regrets there was nothing that could be done to revert the current situation. He further added that his country was the last one to ban the exportation of the product in Europe and thus not an isolated case.
He was speaking after holding a meeting with Meru County commissioner Wilfred Nyagwanga and the deputy governor of Meru Raphael Muriungi.
Kenya was earning an annual revenue of 1.5 billion from the Netherlands alone. It banned the exportation of the crop and soon after the UK followed thus almost killing the trade completely. Kenya now exports to Somalia alone reducing the revenues by great margins considering the economic situation in Somalia alone.
Meru County is the main producer of the crop. Most of the dwellers in the county are miraa farmers who are stranded as a result of the reduced market size. Many of them have chosen to shift to other areas of farming, others have shifted to other areas of the business while others still believe in the crop and have held on.
The high commissioner said the United Kingdom is aware of the economic impacts their decision has had and they will take part in helping the Meru dwellers shift to other means of income. They have recently funded a survey on alternative livelihoods in the county. They are committed to supporting the affected.
Britain declared miraa a class C drug thus banning it from the country. It is a stimulant said to cause excitement, loss of appetite and euphoria. The World Health Organization classified it as a form of drug abuse that can cause psychological dependence. Meru leaders and miraa farmers have insisted that miraa has no known negative health effects despite the studies that point the opposite direction. It is even offered in church as a form of tithe in Meru county.

Wananchi Saidia! Kenya's Top Hacker Appeals For Help

Wananchi Saidia! Kenya's Top Hacker Appeals For Help | Daily Updates
Alex Mutuku, the man accused of being responsible for the loss of 4 billion Kenya shillings from the coffers of Kenya Revenue Authority has appealed to Kenyans to help him raise his bail. The man, who is in police custody, took to Facebook through his brother Alphonse Mutuku to appeal for help.
He can only raise Sh. 100,000 and the courts have refused his request to have the bail reduced to a reasonable amount he can afford. He has been in custody for more than 14 days. The prosecution seeks to have him detained for 40 days because according to them he is a national security threat.
The story of Alex Mutuku has been marred with misrepresentation of facts and the media frenzy that came with it makes it hard to determine whether he really stole the many or not. Many have suggested the KRA is using him as a scapegoat while the real thieves get away. He has since decried the manner in which the media has handled his story. The Kenyan media is known to have a love for stories that scream scandal whether the stories are verified before they hit the public domain or not.
[LONG READ] [MEDIA RESPONSE]
After all the media frenzy, I’ve been forced to respond with a handwritten letter through my brother who has come to visit me.
My life was darkest in 2015 and after that I decided nothing will ever take me back to that dark time. Not anyone. Not even this and certainly the media twisting facts. Hence my phrase ‘Nothing can stop me, I’m all the way up…’ I’m sure most of you are familiar with the lyrics. I’m always smiling. Even now, I have learned to love myself. And trust me, I’ve never loved myself more than I do now.
Now, since 2015 I’ve never taken time off. I struggled with a lot of things but eventually overcame all. So, 2017 is here and what do I do? I decided one of my new year’s resolution is a trip of East and Southern Africa and one international trip. I buy my international ticket and embark on the east African trip. From city to city. On bus. No flying- too expensive – and I document everything on my FB timeline. By the time, I get to Tz, I’ve spend 73k, already broke and the deadline to register as a voter is quickly approaching. I decided to come back. Now, it has all been twisted as ‘living large’. Wow. But I understand people have to make a living- in this case selling more copies.
By March I have ticked two resolutions for this year. I get back, I’m arrested. Why? KRA has lost 4B. Not a million but billion. When they told me that, I laughed. I laugh even now. I’m not stupid. Clearly, I’m the patsy. Those big cajunas at KRA looted the cash and then in a smoke-filled room, smoking their cubans – forgive my imagination, it probably was an office- decided this.
“Oh, this Alex boy just went on a trip and stupidly plastered it all over FB. What’s more, he has a similar case. Perfect! Go get him.”
Anyone with half a brain can figure that out. Four billion doesn’t just disappear like that without anyone noticing- for years. Even slowly.

Here are the facts
1. I DO NOT have 4B, or any part of 4B. In fact, my life’s savings are not even remotely close to one billion, let alone four!
2. I have NEVER worked at KRA nor do I know anyone who works there. If I did then I do not believe I’d have queued all those hours renewing my license or transferring my bike ownership. Those queues are just life draining.
3. I believe this is a test and just like every storm, it will pass and I will emerge victorious. The truth never stays hidden. All will be revealed in due time. God’s time is the best. For now, I’ll keep smiling and praying.
4. Everyone who knows me personally knows that I don’t like asking everyone for it. My bail ruling is coming up on the 28th of March and I’m praying and hoping for two things. One that I be granted bail and two, it’s a REASONABLE amount. Now reasonable of course is relative to everyone and for me that’s 100k as that’s what I can afford. But I’m not the magistrate. All I can do is wait.
On that note, I’m humbly asking each and everyone to help me however they can. It can be through a contribution, praying for me or even coming to give me moral support on 28th. I f you would like to contribute towards my bail, here is how.
MPESA
1. Go to Mpesa. Then pay via paybill.
2. Use paybill 522522 and A/c number 1153642247, [Alphonce Mutuku] [0719700312].
3. Enter the amount you want to contribute then send. You will receive a confirmation from MPESA and KCB too.
BANK
Kenya Commercial Bank
A/c Number: 1153642247
A/c Name: Alphonce Musyoka Mutuku
Swift code: KCBLNA
The little you have; be it 100,200,500… 1M etc., or even that 4B, I’ll forever be grateful and will remember it as the time Kenya stood by me. If I had this 4B, trust me I wouldn’t be asking. I’d just use part of it to pay but I don’t have it.
Lastly, here is my advice. Let no one steal your joy. Live your life to the fullest like I do. I learned the hard way that life is a precious gift from God and every moment should be treasured. That’s why I will never stop smiling. No matter what. Peace.
Please share with everyone…friends, groups, WhatsApp etc.
Love, Alex.
Signed.
P.S: For now, my Facebook account is under my brother’s control so he can’t respond to messages, comments etc. but I hope I will do so soon.

Your Kabambe Phone Will Soon Have 4G Network

Your Kabambe Phone Will Soon Have 4G Network | Daily Updates

Qualcomm has just unveiled a new mobile platform which will without a doubt revolutionize the Kabambe phones in the near future. The new platform will bring 4G LTE connectivity to Kabambe phones also known as dumb phones or entry level phones. The phones are low budget phones with great power efficiency. They are majorly used by small business owners and rural dwellers in Africa, Asia, Latin America and India.
The new platform is available now and Qualcomm has said 205-powered devices will hit the market from the second quarter of this year.
This is a blessing to the small business owners of Kenya and the whole continent as well because of the enhanced speed and reliability that comes with 4G network. Businesses that rely on Mpesa are also set to benefit from this as speedy connections are expected. With a combination of long lasting batteries, things will definitely be better.
Bad news is that the company has not announced yet when they will introduce the technology to Africa. Their first market targets will be based in South East Asia, Latin America and India. Introduction to Africa will undoubtedly depend on the success of the platform in the above mentioned markets.
This is coming shortly after Nokia relaunched its 3310 phone.

William Kabogo Responds To Drug Dealing Allegations

William Kabogo Is A Drug Dealer

Governor of Kiambu William Kabogo was last night hosted by Jeff Koinange on Jeff Koinange Live to talk about the forthcoming elections. He dismissed his major opponent Waititu Babayao as someone illiterate and reckless. He termed Waititu as a sick man who he could only work with if he stopped being irresponsible.
William Kabogo disagreed with the general perception of him as an arrogant man who uses his money to step on others. He said people confuse his firmness with arrogance. He also dismissed claims by Waititu that he had murdered Mercy Keino.
Many people were curious to know what he thinks about the news in town that he is a drug dealer that has worked with Harun Mwau. Harun Mwau was labelled a drug kingpin by the Obama administration. It is said William Kabogo married Harun Mwau's daughter. It is such claims that have supported the theory that Kabogo is a drug dealer.
The governor denied those claims explaining the genesis of the claims. He said the rumors were started by his opponents when he was vying for the Juja parliamentary seat in 2002. He was campaigning using a chopper at a time when such a thing was unknown to many. He said he is a businessman who has worked hard since the age of 22 in Mombasa and is now one of the biggest real estate developers in Kenya.
Harun Mwau has no daughter. My wife is not Harun Mwau's daughter.
