Sad Day For Raila As Elizabeth Ongoro Ditches ODM Party

Elizabeth Ongoro Ditches ODM

Nominated senator and Raila Odinga's diehard supporter Elizabeth Ongoro has decamped from Orange Democratic Movement. Citing frustrations for her exit, she is yet to announce the party under which she will contest the Ruaraka parliamentary seat. The seat is currently held by Tom Kajwang' who is a member of ODM.
Elizabeth Ongoro was barred from contesting the party nominations after deadly clash between her fans and those of Tom Kajwang' leading to the death of 2 people. The disciplinary branch of the party cracked the whip on her thereafter. It is not clear the kind of punishment imposed on Tom Kajwang'.
Some sources, however, say that some big players in the party did not want her to run for the Ruaraka seat and had asked her to instead go for the Women Representative position or the senatorial seat. She however declined saying that no one would deny her her democratic right to contest the Ruaraka parliamentary seat.
This is a big blow to the former prime minister Raila Odinga as he seeks to clinch the National Super Alliance presidential ticket. Elizabeth Ongoro is a well known grassroots mobilizer who is capable of moving crowds in the city and the countryside with the same energy. Very few female politicians have grasped such political skills.
Ongoro represented Kasarani constituency in the 10th parliament and had planned to vie for the Nairobi senatorial seat. She however had to bow to party pressure and let Margaret Wanjiru, who has since defected to Jubilee Party, contest the seat. She lost with a big margin to Gideon Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
She shied from the senatorial seat this time round after it was alleged Martha Karua would contest the seat too. Karua went ahead announce her bid for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race and her support for the reelection bid of president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ongoro is expected to defect to party within the NASA outfit preferably Wiper Democratic Movement. In the recent times, many aspirants have shifted political allegiances as the party nominations nightmare bites. Chirau Ali Mwakwere defected from ODM to Wiper as Passaris moved to ODM. Richard Onyonka ditched ODM and Gitobu Imanyara defected to Maendeleo Chap Chap under Alfred Mutua from the Orange Democratic Movement.

An Assassination Attempt On Ali Hassan Joho In Migori

Joho Assassination
The chaotic ODM rally in Migori County has taken a new twist after governor of Mombasa Ali Hassan Joho claimed there was an attempt on his life. A rally meant to launch the reelection bid of Suna East MP Junet Mohamed turned violent as supporters of governor of Migori Okoth Obado and those of Junet Mohamed and former Rongo MP Ochillo Ayako clashed. Ochillo Ayako is in the race to unseat Okoth Obado.
A shot car in Joho's entourage
Tensions had already risen prior to the meeting after arsonists used a petrol bomb to torch ODM offices in the county. Obado, who had not been invited to the ODM rally, tried to make his way to the venue of the meeting. The supporters of Ochillo Ayako started pelting him, his entourage and supporters with stones, water bottles and anything else they could find. His bodyguards shot in the air and was followed was a stream of violence with bodyguards and police engaging the agitated crowds.
A bodyguard attached to Joho was shot. A bullet went through a VIP seat. Joho has now come out to sensationally claim that someone was trying to kill him in Migori County. These claims by governor 001 are supported by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir who told a local newspaper that their car was shot at three times.

It is also said that a supporter who had just taken a selfie with the governor was shot. The governor who said he cheated death by a whisker says the trend must be contained before it escalates. He asked the police to carry out thorough investigations. He also dismissed claims that he and Obado had bad blood between them saying the situation was brought about by rising political temperatures,
Okoth Obado had opposed the rally and swore it would not be held in Migori under his watch. He said there was a deliberate plan by top ODM officials to endorse Ochillo Ayako for the top seat. He stated that governor Joho being a deputy party leader must remain neutral during the nominations period.

ODM is heavily dominant in Nyanza and anyone who clinches its nominations papers is deemed to have won the political seat he seeks. This will cause violence across the counties in the region as politicians fight tooth and nail to be in the ballot under the orange banner.
Joho has been involved in a public battle with the president of the republic over the past few months. The last time there was a direct confrontation between the two was in Mombasa when Joho was barred from attending the president's event.

The contract held back the musician and she couldn't produce music for the Kenyan market without breaching the contract in one way or the other. Many other African artists, like Keko, who signed contracts with Sony have seen their careers go down the drain as they quickly lost touch with their fan bases in a bid to avoid breaching contracts and being sued.
Xtatic, a mother of one and a senior official in the Atheist In Kenya outfit, took to social media to deliver the news to her fans. She spoke of excitement to move to the next chapter in her life.
And by the power vested in me by the completion of a contract period, I now pronounce my time with/in SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, Done!!

The poster features a raunchy photo, one you would not expect on a political poster. Many of her fans quickly took political sides and one of them was agitated she chose Jubilee. But not all were not buying this.
Well, it turns out this was just another April Fools' Day prank. In another post, she confirmed it to be a prank and laughed about not knowing she had supporters. What's funny is the number of Kenyans on Instagram that bought the story.
