An Assassination Attempt On Raila Odinga

An Assassition Attempt On Raila Odinga JKIA NASA Kibera Killed

The NASA leadership has come out to sensationally claim that someone tried to assassinate Raila Odinga as he made his way from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to a Kibera rally yesterday.
The claims were backed by a bullet mark on the windscreen of the vehicle he was in during the violent engagements with the police.

The bullet did not go through the window as the vehicle's windows are reportedly bullet proof. This is not the first time the assassination claims are coming up.
The Daily Updates cannot at the moment authenticate the truth in the assassination claims as the bullet could have been stray and not intended to harm the former prime minister.
More to follow.

Raila Odinga Shows Great Statemanship By Bringing His Children To A Violent Protest

Many times people have complained of politicians putting poor people in harm's way to front their interests while their children remain in safe havens in the posh estates and abroad.
That was not the case yesterday during the grand welcoming of Raila Odinga from the United States. The welcoming turned violent and five people lost their lives in the end.
What captured the eyes of many was the presence of the children of Raila Odinga in the match all through.

Robert Mugabe Attends A University Graduation Ceremony In Total Oblivion Of His Woes

Bob is a man of many firsts. But the fact that he is walking freely in spite of the fact that a coup carried out against him is in place is a first of firsts.
Robert Mugabe was today seen in public for the very time since his military overthrew him. He attended the graduation ceremony of Zimbabwe Open University where presided over the capping of graduates, an activity he has done over the years.
People found it funny that he risked it all to go to the graduation only to sleep through the entire ceremony.
Mugabe is under pressure to resign and relinquish power, an idea he has refused to accept, seemingly at whatever cost.
Mugabe's problems started when his wife's ambitions broke the ceiling. Many of Robert Mugabe's decisions are seen as planned and executed by Grace Mugabe behind the scenes.
Events that led to the firing of his longtime vice president have culminated to the end of his iron fist rule.
Many are keen to watch on how long the military will let him walk freely. It is only a matter of time.

Raila Versus The State: Police Lorry, Kayole Bus Burnt By NASA Supporters

The police were today served with much more than they could handle after NASA supporters making their entry into Mombasa Road burnt their lorry alongside a Kayole bound bus.

The police were today served with much more than they could handle after NASA supporters making their entry into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport burnt their lorry alongside a Kayole bound bus.
A large number of police officers had been deployed on Mombasa Road to bar Raila Odinga's supporters from entering the airport to welcome the former prime minister from overseas.
The supporters were having none of it and by the end of it all they had their way but not before setting a police lorry on fire. A Forward Travelers bus was also nor lucky as it found itself in the middle of the chaos at the wrong time.
The police were today served with much more than they could handle after NASA supporters making their entry into Mombasa Road burnt their lorry alongside a Kayole bound bus.

The NASA brigade had announced its plan to lead a one million man match to the country's busiest airport to welcome its leader.
Inspector of police Joseph Boinett had banned the match and hence the presence of police to enforce the ban.
Many saw this as a double standard because Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were given a welcome of such nature when they traveled from the Hague after the hearing of their post elections violence cases.
Many motorists plying the Mombasa Road route were also not spared as vehicles' got stoned and people were robbed as well during the grand Odinga entry.

Michael Munyori had killed his wife Lucy Kagendo in 2010. Mr. Munyori had told the court that his wife had been drunk during the altercation.

During his trial, Munyori told the court his wife was drunk and they argued after he asked her where his phone was. In the morning, he called one of his children to prepare for school.

Lecturers Headed For Tough Times As Matiang'i Reins In.

Kenyan Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i
Lecturers are headed for tough times after the Education Cabinet Secretary said that the government would start contractual hiring of lecturers. Speaking to Vice Chancellors of public universities on Wednesday , Dr. Fred Matiang'i said that the government would phase out staff that were inherited from previous administrations.
This means that  public universities will stop the hiring of staff on pensionable, permanent terms because the government cannot afford all their incomes.
He added that the change will come into effect at the start of the next financial year.
Kenyan university lecturers are currently on strike after demanding higher remuneration that was agreed to in their 2013-17 collective bargaining agreement  that was created by universities, unions and the government.
In this CBA agreement, lecturers were to gain from a 17.5 % pay addition and a 3.9% hike in house allowances.
The Cabinet Secretary, known for his tough stances further added that the Ministry had halted the introduction of new university satellite campuses. He said that the universities should instead concentrate on improving the ones that already exist.
After the new directive, the striking dons have since termed it as 'misplaced' .
Branch Secretary of the University Academic Staff Union (UASU ), Onesmus Mutiso said that this was a sideshow that avoided the main issue of the current strike.
He added that if the government implements the new rule, they would challenge it in court from January.

Is This The End Of The Road For Robert Mugabe?

Military tanks were seen advancing into Zimbabwe's capital, Harare on Tuesday. PHOTO | COURTESY
Robert Gabriel Mugabe might have nine lives but this may be his last one and it could be ending sooner than we thought. He dismissed his deputy,  Emmerson Mnangagwa from official duty, and many saw this as a move to create space for his wife, Grace to succeed him.
After a bitter Mnangagwa fled the country, Zimbabwe armed forces commander Constantine Chiwenga called for an end to purges in President Robert Mugabe’s ruling party and said the security services would stop those “bent on hijacking the revolution,” signaling a split with the 93-year-old leader.

When news broke that army tanks had been seen making their way to the capital, Zimbabwe became a trending topic immediately.

Is this a sign? Or is the military just showing Uncle Bob who the boss really is?
The army has since come out to state that the first family is safe although no one has seen Robert Mugabe or his wife. Reports now indicate that he is under house arrest and his wife has fled to Namibia.

Woman Expresses Love For Miguna Miguna: Miguna Claps Back

A woman by the name Muna Ali expressed her love for Miguna Miguna on Twitter even calling her Migush.
This happened when Miguna Miguna was announcing Raila Odinga's homecoming and calling out people to go and receive the people's president.

Then out of nowhere came Muna's tweet asking Miguna if he would be around too and that she loved his hands.

But Miguna Miguna was having none of it. He taught the lady some logic and ordered that she stays focused.

Muna was not done with Migush just yet. She alluded that Miguna was just playing hard to get.

Well, never a dull day on Twitter. Should Miguna just calm down and enjoy the fan love?

Wahu Finds God, Crosses Over To Gospel Music

Wahu Finds God, Crosses Over To Gospel Music
Veteran Kenyan songbird Wahu Kagwi has decided to ditch secular music for gospel music. She made this announcement on NTV's Crossover show saying that was her first time on a gospel show.
I would like to say that Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
Wahu says she has been saved for a very long time saying she went to Sunday school and was in the Christian Union and after high school she asked God to show her why He created her.
Though her upbringing was in accordance with strict Christian rules, she says her decision to be close to God was out of her own volition.
Wahu says many things happened after she got saved and that people in the church were part of the reason she moved away from God.
Her husband, Nameless, has been instrumental in helping her come back to God.
Watch the interview here.

Wahu is not the first Kenyan artist to cross over to the gospel side. Rufftone turned to gospel in the 90s but the one that caused the biggest storm was Size 8 who many accused of crossing over to have a piece of the cake that is the huge gospel music market.

What do you have to tell Wahu?

Mutahi Kahiga Takes Over As Nyeri's Fourth Governor. Will He Survive?
Nyeri County has witnessed the swearing in of its record fourth governor following the death of Wahome Gakuru in an accident.
Mutahi Kahiga was sworn in today even as the burial plans for the late governor continue.
Nyeri County has had the highest number of governor's in Kenya's history since the promulgation of the new constitution that introduced devolution.
The county's first governor Nderitu Gachagua died of disease while in office and had to be replaced by his deputy who went ahead to lose in the general elections.
Wahome Gakuru was in an ill-fated Mercedes Benz that hit a guardrail leading to his death. He was on his way to Nairobi for a Kameme FM interview.
The new governor was sworn in to office today with many leaders in attendance. The swearing in was preceded by a massive prayer event for the county.
The county could see its fifth governor in the coming days should the current governor lose in the by-elections that will be held at a later date.
The new governor promised to push Wahome Gakuru's development agenda.
He was sworn in amid "noise" from some unknown quarters. It is alleged that Wahome Gakuru's elections funders who fear that he does not know them are funding his opposers.
The king is dead. Long live the king.

Is the Nyeri Gubernatorial seat cursed or is this just a case of bad luck?

St Theresa Girls Senior School In Nakuru

A school in Nakuru County has paid the ultimate price after the education ministry found it guilty of examinations malpractice in the ongoing KCSE examinations.
The said malpractices were committed between November 9 and November 10 despite the stern warnings issued by the Fred Matiang'i led ministry.
Consequently, the school has been instructed to return its certificate of registration to the county education board secretary. The directive issued by Education PS Belio Kipsang also ordered the school management to notify parents of the new development.
Fred Matiang'i had earlier vowed to purge all those engaging in examinations cheating from the students to the educations officials.
Exam cheating has been widespread in the country for long but Fred Matiang'i has taken very bold steps to end the vice since he rose to the helm of the education ministry.

Baba While You Were Away: NASA To Hold A Grand Welcoming For Raila

NASA coordination committee has made public its intentions to hold a befitting welcoming party for NASA leader Raila Odinga who has been away on engagements in the United States.
Siaya senator James Orengo, former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale and former Machakos senator Johnston Muthama said in a joint statement that Raila Odinga has had to reschedule his journey back home from Thursday to Friday to allow for a rehearsal of the rally.
The rally is expected to be of the same fashion as the Baba While You Were Away rally that broke the internet long before it even happened.
Raila Odinga who had gone to the United States to push his reforms agenda met several United States Congressmen and discussed perennial elections rigging that happens in the country.
He is expected to fly to London next week on Monday for the same kind of discussions with various United Kingdom leaders.
Do you think supporters will be allowed to march from the airport to the CBD?
