Uhuru's Seriousness Questioned As He Awards Githeri Man Head Of State Commendation

Githeri Man HSC List Denis Itumbi Robert Alai Head of state commendation Pauline Njoroge

A man who became an overnight sensation for eating Githeri from a polythene bag on a voting queue has been awarded a Head of State Commendation by Uhuru Kenyatta during this year's Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The man whose real name is Martin Kamotho but is popularly known as Githeri Man is among 59 other Kenyans who received the coveted commendation. It is not clear what he has achieved to deserve the fete.
Other questionable names that appeared in the list are Denis Itumbi, Jacqui Maribe, Robert Alai and Pauline Njoroge. They are publicly known to spearhead the Jubilee online war against the opposition and any other group that is pessimistic of the government's agenda.
Robert Alai was a strong supporter of Raila Odinga before he jumped ship and joined Uhuru Kenyatta's camp after Raila endorsed the candidature of his rival, Babu Owino, in the Embakasi East parliamentary contest.
Jacqui Maribe is a close friend of Denis Itumbi and they have in the past been pictured locking lips. She once interviewed Uhuru Kenyatta in State House but the reasons for her inclusion in the list have not been given.
Fatuma Zarika, who recently defended her World Boxing Championship title, was among those who were recognized and people felt they deserved it.
KBC journalist, Victor Muyakane, who was pictured helping a beggar who was under the attack of bees was also recognized.
Singer Ben Githae who composed and performed Jubilee's theme song during the just concluded elections was recognized alongside the wife of former interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Hellen Nkaissery.

Sorry Gamblers: Betin Kenya Introduces MPESA Deposit Charges

betin kenya

One of Kenya's leading betting sites has reversed a decision that saw many punters flock to place sports with them. Betin Kenya has reintroduced MPESA charges in their offering.
The change has been sugarcoated by saying that you will receive the refund of your MPESA charge in your Betin account.
We all know that once your money leaves your MPESA, it is no longer really under your control. From a business sense, it is a smart move to them as you, as the player will most probably bet and lose the money to them.
They must have discovered that they were losing a lot from the free deposits that they offered their customers through their pay bill number 997270.
However, it might be possible that the player wins back the money, but your guess is as good as mine.

Below are the new charges;

Kiherere! Kenyans Blast Joey Muthengi For Seeking Attention

From asking Kenyans to re-tweet her photos so she gets a boyfriend, to starting rumors that she is pregnant, fueling the rumors then rubbishing them, Kenyans are tired of Joey Muthengi.
The Power Breakfast and #10over10 presenter took to Twitter to say that she is not pregnant as people were saying.

But there is one problem, no one really said she is pregnant in the first case. The feedback in that tweet are gold.

After a move by Raila Odinga that was widely seen by Kenyans as chickening out, his key supporters have asked Uhuru Kenyatta to lead Kenyans to the promised land.
Like the Biblical tales when Moses couldn't reach Canaan and thus Joshua was tasked with safely delivering Israelites to Canaan, these Kenyans feel that Raila Odinga has failed his supporters who sat in great anticipation of his swearing in.
Abraham Mutai who was NASA's lead blogger in the just concluded elections was the first one to pronounce those words without mincing.
Following closely was rich lawyer Donald Kipkorir who said that Raila having abandoned his plans there must be someone to steer the ship.

A family is in mourning after an incident sent shock ripples across Kilifi county. Their son, Silas Charo hanged himself after losing in a game of cards while playing with friends.
The boy who was in standard three in Mtondia Primary School at the time of his death used a rope to take his life in his room.
The winner of the game was supposed to be awarded cashew nuts. When Silas lost, he still requested for the nuts a request that was denied by his friends.
He then went home crying and was later found dangling from a rope in his room. The parents are in shock and cannot understand why their son decided to take his life.
There were deliberate plans to throw the boy a birthday party which was just one week away. The mother talked of buying him a cake.
The police are treating the incident as suicide as they launch investigations into what exactly happened.
The body has been moved to Kilifi Hospital Mortuary.
There has been a steep rise in suicide cases in the country ranging from children, domestic disagreements, police service among other areas.

Death Of 8-4-4: Last KCSE To Be Done In 2025

This is the death and funeral announcement of the 8-4-4 system of education as the ministry of education announced its plans to roll out the new system of education beginning this January.
The new education system which will now have grade one to grade twelve instead of class one to class eight and form one to form four will take seven years to be fully implemented.
The last KCSE exams will be sat for in 2025.
The new system also seeks to kill a one off exams that gauge someone's entire school performance and shift the focus to continuous assessment tests.
A select number of teachers are currently meeting for skills training on the new system of education. The teachers being trained are those who will be directly involved in the roll-out program.
Students in high school will now have an opportunity to choose their area of specialization that they will advance later in university.
The options that will be there have been divided into three wide areas: arts and sports, social sciences and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (popularly known as stem).
The Kenya National Union Of Teachers has opposed the timeline for the roll-out saying the one month training period for teachers is not sufficient. Wilson Sossion wants the roll-out to be pushed to 2029.

Kenyan men, especially those from the Coast, are increasingly using Viagra pills, contraceptives and antibiotics without doctors' prescription.
The Pharmacy and Poison's Board has raised concerns on this worrying trend saying some of the men using these drugs are very healthy and only use them, apparently, to become bulls in bed.
The board's senior inspector of drugs, Julius Kaluai, has advised men to seek doctors' help when in need of such saying you could only be in need of counselling and not drugs.
Mr Julius Kaluai has also asked the authorities to step up and arrest individuals selling this drugs over the counter in gross violation of laws that guide the selling of those drugs.
Viagra is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction and arterial hypertension. Many men use the drug to boost their performance due to societal pressures and the nature of jobs some of them are in.

LATEST: Why NASA Postponed The Swearing In Of Raila Odinga

A disappointing announcement on Sunday evening has left millions in the NASA camp confused as preparations continued for the event slated for Tuesday 12 December. Kenyan opposition outfit, NASA coalition had publicly declared that they would swear in Raila Odinga as the people's president on Tuesday. Details emerge that the agreed location was Mombasa.

Daily Updates can reliably report that three main reasons forced the NASA leadership to make a last minute decision that in a way might have curtailed their efforts.

Blood-thirsty Government Machinery

As seen from the brutal confrontations between supporters and the police, it has been clear that the government has been drawing techniques from previous oppressive regimes. While leaders from the opposition recently had a send-off ceremony for those killed during the last protest, it was almost certain that there would be more bloodshed on Tuesday. Critics often paint Mr. Odinga as a man who thrives from violence, and Tuesday's clash would pit his unarmed supporters against a battalion with orders to disrupt anything they do.

Absence of Deputy, Kalonzo Musyoka.

This was unfortunate as the Mr. Musyoka is still in Germany with his wife, who has been bedridden for while. The best scenario would be for both Mr. Musyoka and Mr. Odinga to be present at the ceremony. Doing a parallel ceremony in Germany would be a logistical nightmare.

Counties That Have Passed The People's Assembly Bill

The People's Assembly Bill is core to the plans that NASA had for Tuesday. So far, 14 counties have passed the bill and this is still not the optimum. The NASA Coalition won 18 gubernatorial seats in the August 8 election and proceeding without the rest could be avoided. Our projections indicate that the leadership will push for the passing of the bill in the remaining counties within two weeks.

Although logical, the coalition runs the risk of supporter apathy as many Kenyans looked forward to the events that would follow December 12. It is now up to the Coalition to keep the hopes of their loyal supporters afloat.
