You Have To Become 'Yello Yello' By March: Matiang'i Tells School Buses

The acting Cabinet Secretary for Education, Fred Matiang'i has given a directive that all school buses in Kenya must be painted yellow by March 30, 2018.

This is a common style for school buses overseas.

The cabinet secretary, who is also in charge of Interior Security has asked traffic police to limit the operation of the buses between 6 am and 6 pm in the evening.

In 2017, Members of Parliament amended the Traffic Bill, 2016 to require that all school buses be yellow.

The law also specifies that the name of the institution be inscribed in black and be roadworthy. In addition, all the buses should have safety belts designed to allow proper use by children.

All these changes were part of the campaign to ensure teachers and pupils travelling in these buses are safe.

Since he took over the ministry, Mr. Matiang'i has enforced a strict code of conduct that governs both examinations, staff and school management that has seen him gain favor and fear in equal measure.

He broke his own record of presiding over the fastest marked national exams in Kenya, where the traditional excess of high grades has been trimmed to a rare bunch.

Exclusive: Why AMB Amina Mohammed Was Fired

Most did not see it coming. A decent section of Kenyans thought and believed that Foreign Affairs CS, Amina Mohammed would retain her ministry after her previous mandate.
When President Uhuru Kenyatta made public the names of the citizens who would serve in the Cabinet in his second term, Ms. Mohammed (known to be close to the president), did not feature.

Earlier last year, news outlets reported that the President spent extensive resources to campaign for the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary in the race for the position of the African Union Commission chairperson.
The elections were held on Monday, January 30, at the AU headquarters in Ethiopia and Ms. Amina lost.
The Kenyan government is said to have spent a jaw-dropping amount of money in the campaign for Amina across the continent but this did not yield any fruit.

The President's administration had even set up a cabinet sub-committee (5 CS's) to ensure CS Amina Mohamed's victory.
Kenya has continuously sought to play a key role in Africa's politics and a win in the election would have seen the country's interests catered for.
According to Radio Citizen, the said low budget was about KSh 1 billion.
Chad's foreign minister Moussa Faki Mahamat won the election and sources say that the government will opt for another diplomat to take over the Foreign Ministry and aggressively build the country's portfolio.
Fortunately, Ms. Mohammed will be reassigned to other key roles away from the limelight.

The President announced that he will retain six Cabinet Secretaries in his second term. Fred Matiangi (now CS of Interior/acting CS in the Education docket,) Henry Rotich (Treasury) and Najib Balala (Tourism) retained their posts.

Charles Keter (Energy), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and  James Macharia (Transport) retained their dockets in the new appointments and the president will announce the rest in due course.

Police Bust Space Lounge Selling Shisha And Patrons Asked To Leave

After the Government of Kenya banned the sale and use of shisha in the country, Space Lounge could not resist the request by its patrons. Perhaps the revenue from its shisha sales was too lucrative and they resumed the sale of the banned product.

On Friday night, cops raided and closed down the nightclub after they got word that they were still in the business.
B-Club was also closed down for flouting the shisha law and increased complaints about noise pollution. The County of Nairobi reported that they had received numerous complaints about the clubs' noise pollution in the Kilimani area.

The club patrons and owners were caught unawares when the police arrived at around 10 at night.
Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu made the announcement through a gazette notice on 28 December banned shisha sale and smoking and anyone found guilty would be liable to a penalty according to the Public Health Act.

Ruto Addresses His Rumored Fallout With Uhuru Kenyatta

When Uhuru Kenyatta appeared on a televised broadcast to release the names of those he had appointed to his cabinet, William Ruto did not stand by his side as was in 2013.
Many people read this as a sign of trouble in paradise. The Daily Nation ran a front page story detailing what led to the alleged fallout.
According to the newspaper with national circulation, Ruto was not happy with Uhuru's decision to include certain individuals in the cabinet since such a decision was going to be a deterrent to his ascension to power in 2022.
Ruto who has been largely tight lipped about the issue finally broke his silence on Twitter. He told his followers that people should let the president make his appointments in peace so that they are able to work on and deliver their manifesto as promised during the campaign period.

Nick Mutuma Hot Photos trolled twitter rape case

Nick Mutuma may be a pretty boy loved by all Kenyan teenagers and old women alike but that Kenyans on Twitter have nothing good to say about him.
The renowned Kenyan actor took to Twitter to warn that he was going to unfollow anyone who was above 25 years of age and still complaining about njaanuary.
According to him, at that age someone should have learnt how to save money and thus shouldn't be affected by the perennial financial difficulties that come with January.

While it was unclear how the lad would know someone's age before making the decision to unfollow them, Nick Mutuma had obviously not expected the backlash he received from Kenyans who accused him of being privileged boy who is blind to reality.

So much was the hit coming that Nick couldn't handle it anymore. He went ahead to explain that the tweet was directed at one of his friends and was not meant for everyone. Apologies followed.
With Twitter, you should expect anything when you decide add your two cents to issues.

The internet is so unpredictable he was trying to troll her but he ended up with the most humiliating reply Twitter has ever witnessed.
A lady going by the Twitter name Kurly Cheeks talked of her reservations about Omena. She said it is cat food and will never bring herself to eat it.

This tweet rubbed another user, Asamoh, the wrong way and he went ahead to describe the lady in graphic details.

From this point it is Ls all through. She was very quick to respond and the bile she threw Asamoh's way was over the limits.

Then the fans joined in.

But the winner of the day was Boniface Mwangi.

Pambazuka National Lottery Shuts Down Over Heavy Taxation

Pambazuka National Lottery has announced that it is closing shop over unsustainable operation costs that have been brought about by government's decision to slap them with a 35% tax on all ticket sales.
In a statement issued to the public, the national lottery ran by Bradley Ltd said they are suspending all their business operations in Kenya.
Pambazuka National Lottery has today suspended its business operations in Kenya. This has been occasioned by the current taxation regime. Prior to January 2018, operations have been based on a 55% pay-out and the imposition of a 25% tax devoted to charity as per regulations.
The government recently won a case that was objecting to its decision to impose the tax and has since effected it. Many of the betting and lottery companies have said they will be forced to shut down operations in Kenya as it is not profitable anymore.
SportPesa recently cancelled all their partnerships with various sports clubs in the country and said they will make more changes in the coming future.

Miguna Miguna Orders The Stoning Of David Ndii
Self proclaimed National Resistance Movement general Miguna Miguna has lashed out at David Ndii, Oduor Ong'wen and Noah Akala for being a hindrance to the swearing in ceremony of Raila Odinga.
Talking on Twitter, he expressed his reservations about the constant call of press conferences by the trio to announce the formation of one or another committee and new developments on the planned ceremony.
Miguna Miguna went ahead to give permission to anyone willing to stone the three the next time they call a conference of such nature.
He also said Kenyans were tired of such games.

The resistance movement received a much needed boost when Kalonzo Musyoka came back from Germany with a renewed energy saying he fully supported the cause.
