Exclusive: Why Timmy Tdat Was Fired From NRG Radio

Exclusive: Why Timmy Tdat Was Fired From NRG Radio

NRG Radio got way less than they had bargained for when they hired Timmy Tdat to co-host alongside Mwalimu Rachel who had earlier fallen victim to a downsizing program at Homeboyz Radio.
It is now emerging that NRG fired Timmy Tdat after failing to deliver. His performance at the online radio was so dismal that they decided to let him go before the expiry of his contract.
Our source at the Westlands based radio gave us details of what transpired leading to the letting go of Kasabun's son.
The whole point of bringing Timmy on board was to attract his fan base which is largely from the slums of Nairobi and small towns like Webuye and Maili Saba. The staffing guys at the station did not bring into consideration the fact that this fan base could not afford to stream a radio show.
With that fan base failing to become part of NRG's audience, everybody at the station hoped that Timmy's nature as a funny guy would resonate well with the cool kids of Westlands who listen to the station.
The dry jokes the man was cracking received very negative feedback and he became some sort of repellent that nobody wanted to listen to.
It was agreed that Timmy Tdat's firing be low key. It was not announced and neither did Timmy make any reference to it when Amina asked him on the trend how it felt like working on a radio show.

KRA Goes After Blood Money In Westgate

KRA Goes After Blood Money In Westgate

The taxman has once again reared his ugly head and is this time round going after the Sh2.7 billion the Westagate Mall was given following the terrorist attack that left many people dead and injured and destruction and loss of property.
Out of the Sh600 Million payout remitted to the owners of Westagate Mall, Sony Holdings, by Kenindia Insurance in 2014, the Kenya Revenue Authority wants Sh221 Million in taxes.
Sony Holdings is protesting Kenya Revenue Authority's decision to classify the compensation as revenue instead of classifying it as capital. Sony Holdings say the taxman did this to justify the heavy taxation.
Compensation that is paid out as a result of loss of earnings is normally subject to income tax. Compensation as a result of loss of capital such as land, buildings, a plant or machinery is exempted from tax.
The mall had a property damage and loss of rental income insurance cover with Kenindia Insurance. The insurance company has been releasing the compensation sum in bits since 2014.
The owners of the mall have accused the taxman of misleading the treasury cs Henry Rotich and have even wrote to him seeking to be exempted from tax which has risen to Sh380 million since 2014.
There was backlash after the mall was compensated for the losses incurred as some people felt that the victims of the terrorist attack should have been compensated first. There are some victims of the attack that have not fully recovered from the incident with cases of PTSD being widely reported.

Did Nation Journalist Lure Sharon Otieno To Her Death?

The events that led to the death of a pregnant Sharon Otieno are as bizarre as they are fishy. The journalist who was covering an alleged love scandal involving the most powerful man in Migori County was careless with his source and exhibited the highest levels of professional negligence.

BARRACK ODUOR

The Nation journalist, Barrack Oduor, went to meet a man who had reportedly been sent by Okoth Obado to relay some information. Even if the governor had not sent him, it is clear they are very close considering the fact that the man in question Michael Oyamo is his personal assistant.
The fact that he went to meet a representative of the subject of his investigation when his main source was present is unfathomable.

MANY QUESTIONS

Many questions are being asked about how he escaped death when there were four abductors inside the vehicle. How did he set himself free when he was being strangled? How did he only sustain injuries on his knees when he jumped from an over-speeding vehicle?
Here is a narration of the occurrences as seen on Facebook.
Pundits from the region have also questioned the journalist's role, accidental or intended, in the death of Sharon Otieno.

A second-year student of Medical Records and Information at Rongo University who was abducted on Monday has been found dead in the dense parts of Kodera Forest. Sharon Otieno was heavily pregnant at the time of her death.
Sharon Otieno is currently in Oyugis Level Four Hospital Mortuary where his father, Douglas Otieno, viewed his body at 1am. The father rushed to the hospital after he was informed by the police that the body of a woman had been dropped at the hospital morgue after it was found in the forest.
The student was in the company of Nation journalist Barrack Oduor in Graca Hotel where they were reportedly lured out by Michael Oyamo, the personal assistant of Migori County governor Okoth Obado.
Michael Oyamo was arrested on Tuesday and is currently being questioned by detectives as a person of interest in the murder.

This Is What Tony Gachoka Has Been Up To 😂

This Is What Tony Gachoka Has Been Up To

The former aide of Raila Odinga has been off the radar for some time now following a disastrous public life that saw his dirty linen being washed in the open for all to see and a habit that almost cost him his life.
Tony Gachoka resigned to a quiet life at the Kenyan coast perhaps to quell the disorder that he was entirely responsible for starting. He shared photos of his serene home in Diani saying that he was enjoying retirement.
Tony Gachoka, who is Ciku Muiruri's brother, made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he appeared on a live television broadcast in a drunken stupor in what could have been easily described as theater of the absurd.
During that interview, he viciously attacked Anne Waiguru and William Ruto hurling profanities at them as the show's host, Jeff Koinange cheered him on.
Later on it emerged that he was a wife batterer who was not fending for his family and directing all his earnings to alcohol.
His online presence is still there albeit not as strong as before and has expressed his wishes that Raila Odinga becomes president in 2022.

Kenyans Set To Pay Less For Power As Wind Power Enters Grid

Turkana Wind Farm delayed until 2018

The Lake Turkana Wind Power Project, which is Kenya’s single largest power plant,  will in the next week inject 310 megawatts into the national power grid. This is expected to lead to savings of around Sh1 billion every month.

Construction of the plant delayed after several setbacks that included financing. This slowed down the pace at which the government of Kenya built transmission lines to link the project to the grid.

In the event that the government had not succeeded to link the project to the grid, they had agreed to pay a Sh 1 billion fine through bills by consumers. Power prices had increased in August and this will be great news as it is expected to ease the burden on electricity users.

Geothermal power costs about Sh8.7 per unit (8.5 US cents), which is the around the same price as the wind electricity. Kenya has relied on diesel-generated electricity which is often even up to three times more expensive compared to geothermal power.

Energy Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Keter spoke about the new development during final tests on the power line that will transmit electricity to the grid.

It has taken long, amidst delays, for the power line to be commisioned to transmit power from Marsabit to the Suswa substation in Narok, where Kenya's main interchange for power coming from different sources is established.

Crime Alert: This Man Is Selling A Baby On OLX For 2 Million

Crime Alert: This Man Is Selling A Baby On OLX For 2 Million

The levels of impunity the republic has clocked is terribly frightening that a man can confidently post an ad on a social ecommerce platform that he is selling a baby.

On 03/09/2018, a man going by the name Alex Mugambi posted the picture of a baby on OLX and put price tag of Sh2 Million on her.

The ad which is still published is coming at a time when child trafficking is a global problem that has evaded a permanent solution of any form for a very long time now.
