The Witch Is Free! Jacque Maribe Released On Bail, Joe Irungu's Application Denied
Citizen Television journalist Jacque Maribe is finally a free woman after the court granted her bail. Jacque Maribe will walk out of jail upon payment of a cash bail of Sh1 million or a bond of Sh2 million.
Justice James Wakiaga was convinced with Jacque Maribe's argument that she is a famous journalist who would have no reason to jump bail because she is easily identifiable on the streets. She had also asked the judge to consider the fact she has a small child who needed her to be around as a mother.
Jacque Maribe's boyfriend Joe Irungu was however not lucky as the judge ruled that he will have to stay in remand during the entire period of trial.
The judge described Joe Irungu as a slayqueen, a woman eater and a flight risk who has access to guns that he could use to intimidate witnesses. Murder trials take long periods to be concluded and it is no doubt that Joe Irungu will spend a significant amount of his adult life in remand.
The judge has however ordered that Joe Irungu be availed at Kenyatta National Hospital to receive treatment for his gunshot wound. It is not clear if Jowie has enough political connections to be admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital private wing as we have witnessed in other high profile cases.
Ex-Town Clerk John Gakuo, Jailed For Stealing Cemetery Land, Dies In Jail
The former Nairobi Town Clerk John Gakuo has died in Mbagathi Hospital where he was rushed to from jail after falling ill. The former civil servant's lawyer Asa Nyakundi confirmed the death and said his body has since been moved to a mortuary.
John Gakuo, together with former Local Government Permanent Secretary Sammy Kirui, was sentenced to three years in jail in connection with the purchase of a cemetery land. He was charged with abuse of office in the purchase of some cemetery land valued at close to Sh290 million.
John Gakuo had applied to be released on bail from jail citing ill health but the application was rejected and an appeal was to be heard on Wednesday. The appeal should have been heard last week but the presiding judge was absent at that time.
It is said that John Gakuo was moved to a maximum prison facility after he was found hiding a phone against prison rules.

King Kaka Claims Ezekiel Mutua Removed His Song From YouTube. He's Lying.
A man who had the opportunity to become Kenya's highest selling and most respected rapper messed it up by releasing half baked projects every other week and is now resorting to juvenile tactics to remain relevant in an industry being taken by storm by younger and more creative artists from the hood.
King Kaka recently released a song named Dungaing that is part of his album Eastlando Royalty. Despite the song having a feature from a big artist like Kristoff, it performed dismally in the first days of its upload and could not even get to the 100 trending videos on YouTube.
In a bid to save face and promote his album, which most people are doubting he has started working on 31 days to its launch, King Kaka went on Twitter and Instagram telling his followers that Ezekiel Mutua had ordered him to bring down the video because it was too raunchy.
While he does not mention Ezekiel Mutua directly for fear of legal consequences, King Kaka makes it too obvious that he is talking about the KFCB chairperson. Some Sad News . Been told I have 2 hours to pull down the video for Dundaing ati kina scenes zinaViolate community guidelines. Hahahahaha Kenya Yetu. pic.twitter.com/3L72o7llBQ— KING KAKA (@RabbitTheKing) October 29, 2018
King Kaka then goes ahead to make the video private for sometime to fool his followers that Ezekiel Mutua has made true his threat. He posts an YouTube screenshot image that shows the video is unavailable and then ridiculously claims he is working on resolving the issue.
After some hours he makes the video public again and goes live on Twitter and Instagram to claim that he had to talk to some people to bring back the video. The video quickly makes it to the list of videos trending.Trying to resolve the issues. pic.twitter.com/1xDKl47PQn— KING KAKA (@RabbitTheKing) October 29, 2018
The truth is that Ezekiel Mutua does not have any powers to bring down a YouTube video. The truth is that there are raunchier videos made by Kenyans on YouTube and efforts by Ezekiel Mutua to ban them proved futile. And we are back up. It shouldn’t be this way. Anyway 31days to go to Eastlando Royalty. Buy your tickets now, https://t.co/qXOVbvlMtU pic.twitter.com/ZIZChqTlqi— KING KAKA (@RabbitTheKing) October 30, 2018
King Kaka does not have any contacts at YouTube HQ and did not talk to anybody to make public a video he had made private.
King Kaka is in the phase of the proverbial kicks of a dying horse and nothing he does will save him from the imminent retirement he is staring at.
