What Exactly Happened To The Body Of Dusit Suicide Bomber?
The occupants of the Secret Gardens restaurant were treated to magnified horror when they scampered for safety after hearing a very loud explosion outside the hotel.
For many who thought it was a gas cylinder that had exploded were met with the shock of their lives when they stepped out of the door and the air was filled with the smell of roasting meat.
The body of Mahir Khalid Riziki was all over the place in the form of chunks of meat, some of which was burning. People running away stepped on his bones and meat and it was almost unimaginable to believe that a complete human being had been standing in the same place some few minutes ago.
What Mahir Khalid Riziki was wearing is a suicide vest which is an improvised explosive device in the form of a vest packed with explosives and armed with a detonator.
The vest only weighs a maximum of 20 kilograms and can easily be concealed under heavy clothes. This explains why the people at the barbershop did not notice that he was wearing it. The people who passed by the place he was standing did not also notice anything unusual with Khalid.
He was wearing a white shirt and a black suit as described by the last man to come in close proximity with him.
The suicide vest consists of several cylinders with pipe bombs. In some cases, explosive plates may be used in the place of cylinders. The explosive is surrounded by a fragmentation jacket that is responsible for the shrapnel produced by the bomb.
The suicide bomber was obliterated by the vest which is a common occurrence in suicide bombing cases. It is not clear why the bomber decided to detonate himself while alone because the vest is placed in his body in such a way that it channels the energy of the blast outwards so that anyone standing close to him is harmed.
Even though the vest's position channels the energy outwards, some of the energy inevitably rolls upwards hence ripping the suicide bomber apart at his weakest points.
The police could have possibly used Khalid's head to identify him because the explosion usually separated the head from the body in an instant and the head is thrown clear of the body hence remaining relatively in one piece.
The Reward Of 72 Virgins: Inside A Suicide Bomber's Mind
Sifting through urban myth and stories, we take a closer look at the Houri - the lovely eyed virgins that will accompany the faithful in Jannah ( Muslim Paradise). Besides that, we look at the motivation of the men and women who decide to take their lives in the most violent way possible - bombs.
As more details trickled in of the nature of the attack at the Dusit Hotel, one shocking element was hard to miss. For the first time in a while, there was a suicide bomber in the plan. A video circulating online shows the man standing still, as if to contemplate his decision, before he blows up and bits of him get thrown all over the pavement and lawn.
All talk on social media is the common tale that jihadists take their lives and look forward to a promise. A promise of a dozen of "splendid companions of equal age [or well-matched]","lovely eyed",of "modest gaze" and virgins who will accompany the faithful in Jannah (Muslim paradise).
The Qur'an records that the first of the grants to those who make it, is the houris "untouched before them by man or Jinni".
In an article in Psychology Today, the writer attempts to explain the rationale behind the suicide bomber.
He hypothesizes that the motivation might be due to the lunacy of the person or humans' preoccupation with brutality. Perhaps our species is fascinated by the innovation and dedication it takes to do the task.
Secondly, the power of society shapes our beliefs and gives rules that we follow.
Once society settles on a set of values and the accepted ways of obtaining them, individuals within the society, any society, are compelled to follow the path. This can now be linked with the beliefs of some religions.
Finally, the writer adds a factor he calls 'true believer-ism'. This is the absolute belief that you and your group are the holders of The Truth. Believers of Jihad, in traditional Islamic law, define it as an armed struggle against unbelievers. On the other hand, modern scholars mostly equate military jihad with defensive warfare.
In majority of the cases, individuals who decide to give up their lives in this way, believe they do it for the greater good of their group.
Wife And Father of Dusit Suicide Bomber Arrested In Mombasa
Counter-terrorism officers have moved swiftly to arrest the wife of Mahir Khalid Riziki in Bakarani, Mombasa County in relation to the terrorist attack at 14 Riverside Drive.
Khalid Riziki, who is the father of Mahir Khalid Riziki, was also arrested in Majengo Estate in Mombasa County.
Mahir Khalid Riziki has been identified by the police as the man who detonated the explosives strapped to his body outside the Secret Gardens Hotel as other gunmen made entry and started shooting at civilians.
By the time the attackers were killed, they had ended the lives of 21 Kenyans and foreigners in a siege that lasted for 20 hours.
Suhaila Mwalim Bakari, the wife who was arrested, is said to have been in constant communication with her bomber husband before the attack commenced.
The suicide bomber was born and raised in Mombasa. He traveled to Somalia in 2018 where it is believed he underwent training before sneaking back into the country early this year.

Everlasting Shame As Kisumu Male Malayas Demonstrate For Their Rights
Demonstrations in Kisumu are mostly known to happen against electoral injustice and during Gor Mahia matches but this time round we are being treated to a rare spectacle.
A picture doing rounds on social media show a group of men holding a placard that suggests they are male commercial s3x workers who are demanding for their voices to be heard.
The event organized by Kisumu Male S3x Workers Organization sought to advocate for the rights of male flesh sellers in the Western region.
The demos have elicited mixed reactions from social media with many Christian believers sending their venom and wrath towards the group.
We cannot verify the authenticity of the photo at this particular point in time.
A media article last year covered the rise of gay community in Kisumu.
With all these gay guys, who will marry our girls? Luo elders
Elders in Nyanza are scared that women from the region will soon lack husbands. This comes after a section of the media reported rising cases of gay relationships in the region. And now, the Luo Council of Elders want this foreign culture stopped.
Shock As New Details Suggest Riverside Terrorists Had Insider Help
Expert analysis shows that from the time the Al Shabaab militants entered the 14 Riverside Complex, to the time they were killed, the heavy ammunition used could not have been carried into the site at once. Furthermore, detectives found a room within the Dusit D2 Hotel that had more weapons. It is in this room that the commander of the group, who was last to be killed, set up his final fort.
In the aftermath of the attack, security officials found a stock of rounds of ammunition grenades that were in a bulletproof room.
According to the Star, an officer privy to the operation reported;
“It took us very long to break into the room because the armoured door was very difficult to break. When we finally did, the commander, who was the last person to be killed, had so many grenades and rounds of ammunition in the room,”
According to preliminary investigations, it is very likely that some hotel employees helped the attackers get the weaponry into the hotel before Tuesday.
Some of the weapons were on the floor, while many more were in several drawers. They were wrapped in hotel laundry bags.
“We suspect an inside job considering these people had been frequenting the place as they schemed the attack,” said another officer who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not the official police spokesperson.
The commander of the group seemed well trained and gave the officers a very hard time as the siege extended for over 19 hours into the night and early morning.
It is unclear whether the accomplices could have been killed or escaped. Detectives continue with the investigations.
Meanwhile, a suspected bride of one of the attackers is missing and is believed to have escaped after the terror incident.
Mystery Puzzle Of Missing Dusit 'Suspect'
Ever since details started emerging of the masterminds of the Dusit hotel attack, media has been awash of stories of a young woman suspected to be involved. In fact, many media outlets report that she was in custody. However, in a press statement by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), the name of the woman wasn't among the five. Is it intentional?
Violet Kemunto: Unmasking wife of key terror suspect in Riverside attack - Citizentv.co.ke
New details continued to emerge about the assailants who staged a terror attack at the 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi, killing 21 people and injuring scores of others. Citizen Digital on Thursday obtained an image of the woman said to have been living with one of the main terror suspects in the Riverside attack.
Deadly love: Story of terror couple Violet Kemunto and Salim Gichunge
One of the terrorists in the attack on a Nairobi business complex was a son of a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier. Ali Salim Gichunge, alias Farouk, is believed to have died in the Tuesday attack after commandos stormed the 14 Riverside Drive complex in the afternoon to end an attack that claimed 21 lives.
What Violet Kemunto wrote on Facebook a day to DusitD2 terror attack
More fresh details continues to emerge following DusitD2 Complex invention and the mystery behind those who planned and executed the horrendous attack on Tuesday afternoon. With contradicting information coming out about Violet Kemunto, the woman believed to be the wife of prime suspect Ali Gichunge, all indications are that the couple had all along planned to move out of Ruaka Estate.
On Friday, 18th January, the ODPP posted a statement on Twitter;

The ODPP listed the 5 suspects as Osman Ibrahim, Guleid Abdihakim, Gladys Kaari Justus, Oliver Kanyago Muthee, and Joel Ng'ang'a Wainaina as those arrested.
Details of suspects in the above photo; (Right to Left)
1.) Taxi driver, ferried attackers to several locations
2,) Taxi driver, ferried one of the attackers to #dusitD2
3.) Mpesa agent who sent them money
4.) Was communicating with the attackers
5.) Captured by CCTV talking to one of the attackers
It's interesting to note that the name of Violet Kemunto Omwoyo is missing from the list. Some reports suggest that she already fled the country.
Or did she get a plea bargain from the Government?

Dusit Suicide Bomber Had A Haircut Minutes Before Blowing Himself Up
As Kenyans are still trying to come into terms with the events of Dusit D2 that left several dead and scores injured, bizarre details are emerging of the activities of the attackers moments before they commenced their bloodbath.
The terrorists had lunch at the Chicken Inn at OilLibya located on Limuru Road. This was just hours before they proceeded to 14 Riverside Drive Complex where they gained entry by shooting at the guards who were manning the complex.
It is hard to understand why the terrorists saw the need to have lunch even though it was obvious that their death was inevitable based on the mission they were embarking on.
The most bizarre of it all is the fact that the suicide bomber had an haircut before blowing himself up. A social media user whose friend was in the same barber shop with the bomber recounted the incident as told by his friend.
It is hard to comprehend what goes through a suicide bomber's head right before detonating himself but someone said that he could have been nervous because it was his first suicide mission hence the decision to have a haircut.A dear and close friend was there. One of them went for a haircut right there, paid money after his haircut, walked out a few metres and detonated his s-vest.— Reverse Mentor (@marcusolang) January 17, 2019
She left MINUTES before he did.
I haven't properly processed this yet. I don't understand. https://t.co/sWSMnfAdED
UPDATE: The suicide bomber was identified by Police as Mahir Khalid, born and brought up in Majengo area of Mombasa. He was 25 years old and had been under the police radar.

EXCLUSIVE: How Masked British Special Forces Operative Helped End Riverside Terror
A highly trained British Special Forces (SAS) operative happened to be in Nairobi on the day of the Riverside attack claimed by Al Shabaab. Due to his previous links with the Kenyan security forces, he was called in to help. Cold, ruthless and brave. This is the story of the balaclava-clad ninja who helped save the day.
According to our sources, the lone SAS operative was in the country for joint training programs for Kenya security forces.
On 15th January at about ten minutes past 3 o'clock in the afternoon, news broke that 14 Riverside complex was under attack from suspected militants. A blast and gunshots could be heard in the areas around Riverside drive.
A suicide bomber had detonated his vest just outside the Secret Garden restaurant and five gunmen marauded around the premises shooting at office workers and visitors at the complex.
The SAS operative arrived later kitted up with gear that is clearly different from Kenyan uniforms and kit.

As he prepared for the operation, he was fully kitted up with body armour, a combat dagger, a Glock pistol on holster and most importantly, a modified Colt Canada C8 assault rifle with a silencer.
He was ready to go in to face the assailants accompanied by Kenyan security agencies. As per protocol, the floor plan of the complex was shared and he knew that survivors were trapped inside the buildings at 14 Riverside.
Flanked by Kenyan officers, the operation begun in earnest. This was a delicate situation as it was not yet clear where the hostiles were. It had to be done calmly and this is where all training you have ever received comes in handy.

Those within the premises had to identify themselves to avoid 'friendly fire'. First task at hand was rescuing the survivors after it was determined that the gunmen were in a different location of the building.
The first batch of survivors came out with instruction to crouch low in case live bullets came flying over. In such high adrenaline situations, calmness is an asset.
Photos show the masked operatives escorting a woman out of the building, while holding her hand tightly.

Aside from him, other US Navy Seals were also present during the attack that lasted more than 19 hours as more people got rescued.
From the photos seen by Daily Updates, the fatal injuries to the assailants are a result of powerful automatic weapons that possibly were used in close combat. We cannot post the pictures here due to their sensitivity.
According to witnesses, the man was among the first responders and he showed unmatched bravery.
"There was a lot of confusion, a lot of people running around, but he stood out. He was very brave.”Joshua Kwambai — who fled a restaurant there when the attack began — added: “This guy got there quick. I think he was one of first there. He had a mask on.“We could see him talking to the police and army and they listened to him. They were looking at pieces of paper, maybe plans of the building.”Sources say that he indeed fired several rounds during the operation and because the SAS are excellent marksmen, he did not miss.
A balaclava, also known as a balaclava helmet, is a form of cloth headgear designed to expose only part of the face usually the eyes and nose.
NOTE: Daily Updates would like to clarify that this article DOES NOT, in any way play down the work done by our gallant Kenya security officers at Riverside. Rather, it's a tribute to the people who offer to help during our time of need. The siege ended as a result of combined efforts of all those involved.
Dennis Itumbi Roasted For Quoting The Bible
Dennis Itumbi was at the end of a harsh tackle on Twitter after he quoted the Bible while talking of Deputy President William Ruto's visit of those injured at the Riverside attack.
The one who administered the tackle is foreign journalist who covers Africa as part of his work.
Dennis tweeted;

Then came the rebuttal;
Mr Blomfield critisized Mr Itumbi saying that he was turning the Riveside attack into a PR opportunity for DP Ruto.Dennis Itumbi appears to exploit the #RiversideAttack, turning it into a pr opportunity for deputy president Ruto, who is cast as a man whose actions will apparently find favour with Christ on judgement day. https://t.co/7aflCPmP2l— Adrian Blomfield (@adrianblomfield) January 17, 2019

Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh , who is the Chairman of the National Media Commission says the fact that Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong exposed a photo of the murdered undercover journalist on TV, few months before his killing, does not make him the first suspect. Police are investigating the matter.
The reporter worked with celebrated journalist Anas Aremeway Anas. He was a member of the undercover investigating team, "Tiger Eye PI" , that Anas heads.
Anas, posted on his Facebook page to confirm the unfortunate incident.

Savage! British Clowns Call RECCE Squad 'Paintball Team'
Screenshots of an internet conversation show users calling security officers 'group of bin men on a paintball exercise'. This is after a Kenyan in the group praised their heroics in rescuing hundreds from the 14 Riverside attack in Nairobi.
The callous manner in which the comments were thrown shows a people who do not rate Kenyan security forces. Here are the screenshots;

Jesus Christ Accused Of Sexual Misconduct
Jesus Christ has come out to acknowledge that a certain man is accusing him of sexual misconduct over an autograph incident that they were both involved in in the past.
The God of Cringe claims that Jesus Christ says things that Jesus Christ would never teach. In the video, he also claims that Jesus Christ touched him inappropriately.
You can watch the video below.
Here is a transcript of the part where he talks about the misconduct.
So now I'm going to explain what he did to me when I was just 25 years old. At my first VidCon, so I saw him hanging around the first couple of days and, like I said, I tried to talk to him, but he just wouldn't break character anytime. I'd ask some questions or anything he'd be like. Oh, what are you talking about him? Am Jesus - and it was just really frustrating so I let it go but final day, I offered him to collaborate at the time he had about 40,000 subscribers and I believe I had around 10 to 12 thousand. He did agree to the collaboration. He says what he want to do, I said: well, I guess we can just film each other and kind of interview each other right now, if you'd like, so we did so. I spent anywhere from five to ten minutes in this interview. He had his camera out on a selfie stick and I had my camera out on a selfie stick. The problem was during this interview. Things got really weird. He requested that I unbutton my shirt during the interview revealing my nipple and that's when he pulled out a marker from his pocket and began to draw around my nipple. He had my nipple fully covered in marker ink, which I didn't feel comfortable with, and then he touched the marker to the tip of my nipple and it was traumatic. It was uncomfortable, and the only way I could see overlooking this at the time was that he followed through with his word and released the footage which he never did. Which brings me back and leads me to believe that he could be pleasuring himself, possibly masturbating, to the video to this day that may sound far-fetched, but the fact that he didn't release the video means two things to me. That he's not the fully honest man. I believed that he was number one like he said he was going to release and then number two that he could be a much sicker man than I thought, possibly deriving sexual pleasure from someone who's 25. Who could be about half his age this man's about 40? To 50 years old, at this point very uncomfortable at the last VidCon, I couldn't even look at him. I do plan to go up to him on the next VidCon and discuss this with him and see why he never released the video like he said he would and also why he turned that video into something sexual which didn't have to be, which I didn't request For it to be, and simply didn't, isn't something that I deserve to be put through, especially a man about twice my age.Jesus Christ has responded to the allegations. He denied them in totality and uploaded the video in question to prove his innocence.
Jesus Christ came into the limelight when he was banned from Fiverr after he responded to a video request by PewDiePie that was deemed to have violated Fiverr's policies.
He has been gaining traction on YouTube in the recent past after PewDiePie highlighted his call for help after it emerged that a cult he was in involved with was trying to take his children away.
