 In an unnecessary rant in response to the statement by the DPP, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen  is drawing fire to his camp by insinuating that the ODPP are not impartial.

After the DPP posted a statement on the amounts lost in the Kimwarer and Arror Dam Scam, the Senator took his phone to respond.

Full Statement By DPP On Kimwarer/Arror Dam Scam Investigations

 As detectives continue to spin a web to nab all the suspects that benefited from the corrupt Kimwarer dam project, the DPP (Director of Public Prosecutions) continues to give updates. The office of the DPP sent out a press statement that confirmed that indeed 21 Billion was lost.

PRESS RELEASE
DPP’S PRESS STATEMENT ON INVESTIGATIONS CONCERNING KVDA AND RIFT VALLEY WATER SERVICES BOARD
Following complaints that the Government of Kenya has been exposed to the loss of Billions of Shillings arising out of alleged manipulation of the tendering process and payments for the construction of several dam projects including the Itare Dam, the Embobut Multi-Purpose Dam, the Kimwarer Dam, the Lower Turkwel Irrigation Scheme, the Arror Dam and the Napuu II Irrigation Project, I immediately constituted a team of prosecutors to work closely with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to ensure that the investigations into these projects are meticulous,
comprehensive and expeditiously carried out.

The teams have since embarked on the exercise and a substantial number of persons have already been summoned by and have recorded statements with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
My office has closely followed up the emerging case details and upon reviewing the preliminary report presented to me by the team of prosecutors, I have been persuaded that the complaints lodged were not without merit and the evidence so far suggests that the breaches of the law emerging, and their consequences merit intense and thorough investigations,

 I have also noted the shocking magnitude of the amounts involved and the range of parties that are of interest to the investigations.
This has in turn made investigations complex requiring investigators to cover a wide range of areas including but not
limited to a thorough analysis of the following:
1. The tendering process;
2. The discrepancies in the identities of the parties that bid for the Tenders, the parties that won the Tenders, the parties that were granted the Tenders and the parties that executed the Agreements;
3. The award of Tenders in the absence of project designs;
4. The attempt to manufacture designs post-fact;
5. The failure to secure any of the land required for the Projects;
6. The disputed status of ownership of the Project Lands;
7. The failure to compensate the owners of the persons affected;
8. The apparent absence of any recorded hand-over of the sites;
9 The payment of close to Kshs. 21 Billion to the said contractors regardless of
the issues stated above;
10. The involvement of a large number of Government Officials in the entire process;
11. The legal status of the alleged contractor and their financial status in their home country; and
12. The involvement of the alleged contractor in other allegations and
investigations of fraud in their home country, Italy;

More crucially, we must get a handle on more than Kshs. 21 billion that has already been paid out, trace where and to whom every shilling has been paid so as to trace and establish any intended corrupt payments if any and the recipients thereof.

This means that an aspect of International Cooperation shall be necessary in unearthing
the true identity of the persons behind the entities fronted in the Agreements.

Regarding the Kimwarer & Arror Projects the contractual sum under investigation is 65 Billion with 21 Billion already allegedly paid. In respect of the other projects the team is yet to furnish my office with the cumulative sum since investigations are
still ongoing.

Accordingly, I have directed the Director of Criminal Investigations and the technical team among the investigations to fast track the investigations and in so doing engage our international partners who are willing to assist the country with international aspects of the investigations to unravel any fraudulent activities.

Further, I have directed that financial investigations that may lead to identification of any properties that are proceeds of crime be given a top priority so as to ensure that any ensuing prosecutions will not only be limited to securing convictions against the perpetrators of the fraudulent activities but also be predicated upon recovery of public funds that may have been improperly expended.

I do therefore urge the public to be patient as the investigators proceed with the investigations, and in this regard, I request that a fair opportunity be given to the investigation team and my Office in order to deliver justice to the country.

Also to allow those under investigation ample time to shed light on what actually transpired. The cardinal principle of fair hearing and presumption of innocence to all shall apply
before any decision to charge is made.

Any ensuing prosecutions will be undertaken professionally devoid of any witch
hunt, political considerations or any other extraneous matters.
We shall keep the public informed of the progress we are making on each project investigation.

DPP SHOCKED By Amounts Stolen In The Kimwarer Dam Scam

 In a statement to the media, the office of the director of public prosecutions says that it was shocked by the amounts and number of people involved in the Kimwarer/Arror Dams scam. It is reported that over 21 Billion shillings was paid out yet no work was done.

I  have also noted the shocking magnitude of the amounts involved and the range of parties that are of interest to the investigations. This has in turn made investigations complex requiring investigators to cover a wide range of areas including but not limited to a thorough analysis of the following.."

The statement then gives a list of the elements of the corruption scam that will be investigated.

The CS in charge of Treasury, Henry Rotich has been a guest of the DCI for approving payments that so far Kenya has not got any value for.



Kenyans continue to wait the outcome of these investigations that are expected to fell big guns.

It remains to be seen exactly who will face the law.

CS Henry Rotich To Be Sacked : What We Know So Far

 The scales are tipping in the wrong direction, at least according to one camp in the Jubilee government. More people report that CS Henry Rotich will be the sacrificial lamb in the dam saga that reportedly led to the loss of Sh 21 Billion. Whether he will be prosecuted is a story for another day.

His role in the approval of the monies paid to the contractors and suppliers in the dam scam will be the axe that sends him into oblivion.


During the Devolution Conference, bold talk by Raila Odinga is more evidence that more 'big people' will have to pay the price for the despicable corruption that keeps happening within the government.

According to blogger Robert Alai, President Uhuru Kenyatta has agreed that someone will have to take the fall.

However, knowing Kenya, being sacked does not equate to going to prison for crimes. A combination of lobbying and dragged court cases means that many suspects go free.

In a tweet written in his usual style, NRM General Dr Miguna Miguna resumed his fight against former Prime minister Raila Odinga. He brought in the Eurobond scandal and insinuated that Mr. Odinga 'sacrificed' vocal businessman Jacob Juma who was assassinated in 2016.

In 2017, @RailaOdinga called @UKenyatta a looter and murderer. He sacrificed Jacob Juma in the "fight against Eurobond thieves." RAO accused @UKenyatta of stealing public money through the NYS. The question Kenyans are asking is this: When and how did @UKenyatta become clean?
He reminded Kenyans that Raila Odinga once referred to Uhuru Kenyatta as a looter.

 It is to be expected that after being sworn in, a new president moves into the presidential palace or state house. However, for one President Felix Tshisekedi of the DRC, this is not true. Allegations say that the former president, Joseph Kabila still lives in the palace.

So who is the real president of the DRC?

A new statement shows that President Tshisekedi and his predecessor are now in a coalition agreement.

This all but means that the former president is still in power.

He will 'help' in selecting a prime minister.

What is disturbing is that he is doing all this while in the comfort of the presidential palace.

Meru National Polytechnic students are coming into terms with a heart wrenching suicide that was widely televised on WhatsApp after their schoolmate Makena decided to take her life because her Cooperative University boyfriend cheated on her.
Kelvoh is reported to have been cheating on Makena with another girl and she even witnessed it during a party and this she could not take.
I am sorry but I can’t take it anymore. Kelvoh is the last thing I wanted to lose. There’s no life without him. Suicide was the last thing I ever thought of but I give up. All the best and please don’t miss me.
Makena was in constant communication with her friends on her WhatsApp and at one point told a male friend that she had reached the end.
Consolations from friends did not deter Makena and she sent an image of tens of pills in a brown envelope with some of the pills spilling over.
And in a shocking move, she recorded herself swallowing the pills before getting out of the frame. She was reported dead hours later.
Fridah Makena and her boyfriend Kevloh lived their love life publicly, often expressing love for each other on social media. In one of the posts, Fridah posts a picture of herself to which Kevloh responds that she was his girl. She replies that she had missed him.
Kevloh has pulled down some of their photos together after the death. Makena will be buried today in Nkubu, Meru County.
The administration of Meru National Polytechnic confirmed the death through a circular to its fraternity.
Suicide cases in Kenyan university are not uncommon. There have been numerous calls by students for the school administrators to step up their suicide prevention campaign efforts.

Fresh Details On Why CS Rotich Was Grilled For Over 10 Hours At The DCI

 A mix of complex contracts and thoroughness by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation had Treasury CS Henry Rotich arrive at the headquarters on Kiambu Road at 8am. He left the DCI at around 8.45pm on Wednesday.

It was the second day that detectives were digging into the mega dam scam that led to the loss of Kenyan taxpayer billions.

Although they claim that all the deals were legit, details into the nature of procurement and tenders shows that payments were made for towels and beddings.

It still does not make sense why a dam project would have such.

On the other hand, the company that was to build the Kimwarer and Arror dams is said to have gone bankrupt.

After leaving the DCI officers, CS Rotich's lawyer Katwa Kigen explained why it took so long to be interviewed:

The reason why it took long is because we are dealing with international contracts which take time to understand. It took a while for investigators to understand how international contracts work.

Keep Off JKIA, Kenya Airways Warns Its Customers

The national carrier has sent out a statement advising its customers with flights scheduled after 11am to stay at home and keep off the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
In the statement released by the Kenya Airways, only customers on KQ100 to London, KQ116 to Amsterdam and KQ 210 to Mumbai can proceed to check in.
Further to the strike by KAWU members, we expect disruptions on flights. Customers on flights after 11 A.M are advised not to come to the airport until further communication is shared. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Customers on KQ 100 to London, KQ 116 to Amsterdam and KQ 210 to Mumbai can proceed to check-in. We will keep you updated on the progress.
 We will communicate status of subsequent departing and arriving flights within the next 20 minutes.

Operations at the airport have been disrupted due to the ongoing industrial action being waged by the members of the Kenya Aviation Workers Union. 
The workers have downed their tools citing grievances that include their unhappiness with the board of management, unfair staff hiring and compensation and proposed takeover of the airport by the Kenya Airways.
No plane has landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport since 3am Wednesday and a Rwanda Air aircraft left the airport with zero passengers.
Queues are forming fast at the airport and our journalists on the ground have witnessed the blocking of some entry points by the disgruntled workers.

The Repentance and Holiness Ministry has taken over the multi-storeyed apartments located in the leafy suburbs of Westlands along Rhapta Road.
The family of Jayne Muthoni claims that the prophet and his bishops coerced Jayne into appointing Lilly Njage, as a co-director in Shaba Investment Limited, the registered owner of the flats. Lilly Njage is a decorated lieutenant in the army of the mighty prophet who has previously been credited with raising a woman from the dead.
The relatives of Jayne Muthoni who have since moved to court have accused Prophet Doctor David Owuor of continuing to mint millions from the flats through monthly collection of rent. They claim Jayne was not of sound mind when Lilly Njage was appointed as a co-director.
In court documents seen by Daily Updates Africa, the relatives claim that it is Jayne Muthoni funding the flashy lifestyle of the mighty prophet. They claim the woman has been brainwashed and under the influence of drugs that could have possibly led to memory loss.
We want my sister's property taken back to her. They forced her to appoint a co-director so that they can take control of the company. They have stolen from her. There is one transaction which I saw and more than Sh700 million was withdrawn from her bank account.
Duncan Njagi, brother of Jayne Muthoni, led the family in storming their sister's palatial home in Riverside Drive. They were repulsed by mean looking guards that man the gates. They told the family that Jayne Muthoni was sleeping.
Duncan claims that Prophet Owuor has taken over the property turning it into his private office and the nerve center for the operations of his church that has branches in virtually every part of the country and in other countries like Congo, Mexico, Israel, United States, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, among others.
The palatial home in question was at one point owned by the late George Saitoti. The home was in the media in 2009 when the mightiest prophet of the Lord baptized Raila Odinga in its swimming pool.
When Daily Updates Africa visited the home to seek audience with the prophet, he was moving out. And unlike Moses and Joshua who used swords and fire in their mission to take over Canaan, the prophet is taking the battle to court.
People we spoke to in the church dispute the family's claims. They say that Jayne Muthoni voluntarily appointed Lilly Njagi to help her manage the properties after she developed memory problems.

The sixth annual devolution conference currently ongoing in Kirinyaga County brought with it some tough love for Citizen TV as the same people they mint ViuSasa money from stole their expensive equipment and money.
A vehicle belonging to Royal Media Services was broken into and a range of equipment made away with. Part of the gadgets that were stolen include Macbook laptops, PXW Camera, Citizen TV branded microphone, cables and hard drives.
Stephen Letoo, a Citizen journalist also said that their bags and money were also stolen. It is not clear who will pay for the losses.
Citizen TV crew that i am part of has been robbed in Kirinyaga during the ongoing devolution conference. Mc book Laptops, PXW Camera, Citizen TV branded microphone, bags, money, cables and hardrives for both Citizen and Inoooro TV.
Kirinyaga County is said to be the headquarters of petty thieves and it is said that they steal as little as plums in the market.
Kenyans find it hard to sympathize with Citizen TV considering the fact that it is widely known that Kirinyaga has them all. They should have, apparently, been more careful with their gear.

News reaching our newsdesk confirm that Mario Magonga, the pilot assigned to the Deputy President was involved in a plane crash in Turkana this morning.



 The pilot was a relative to Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka.
He has been the DP's pilot for close to 10 years now. The wreckage of the chopper and his body have been recovered.

ETHIC Responds To Allegations SWAT Is A Petty Thief

A video that surfaced online showing Swat Mtoto wa Eunice begging for mercy from a mob that had descended on him with blows has raised questions on the activities of the group, Ethic, when they are not in studio.
The social media user who uploaded the video claimed that Swat was caught stealing from a house in Umoja Innercore. It is now emerging that Swat, together with other friends, was caught by the police smoking bhang and fled to avoid being arrested.
He took cover inside a house in one of the blocks in the estate and the residents assumed that he was a thief.

Following the video doing rounds on social media. We want people/our fans to know what happened. Yesterday at around 11pm Swat was hanging out outside their apartment. At the same time police officers were doing rounds handcuffing any young man they found outside. Swat and one of his friends saw this and sought to run away so as not to get arrested. They ended up entering a random apartment and hid there (so as not to get arrested) but people who lived in that plot/ apartment, thought they were thieves since they’d never seen them at the apartment. They started flogging them and beating them up, at one point they nearly burnt them. Luckily the same police officers who saw Swat and his friend run away as they were getting away from them came to their rescue and released Swat and the friend since they were obviously innocent. Swat sustained a couple of injuries and is currently recuperating at home. For those of you spreading videos around claiming that Swat is a thief, now ask yourself - who would be stupid enough to steal with a T-shirt that has their name written on it and wearing crocs while at it?? Member of Parliament for Kapseret and William Ruto's strongest supporter Oscar Sudi has thrown all caution to the wind and done what many fear to even think of, taking the director of criminal investigations George Kinoti by the horns.
Speaking during an event in his Rift Valley backyard, the lawmaker accused George Kinoti of being used for political vendetta and directly addressed him saying he had destroyed the lives of many Kenyans through his actions.

Samuel Kivuitu was the chairman of the defunct Electoral Commission of Kenya. He was largely blamed for the bangled 2007 elections that resulted in the post elections violence that gripped the nation after he declared Mwai Kibaki the winner of the elections.
The man's name was dragged all over the place and in the end he died an isolated man having battled throat cancer. He did not live to witness the next elections that happened in 2013.

Exclusive: Why Anita Nderu Was Fired From Capital's Hits Not Homework

Anita Nderu's days on Kenya's most popular evening radio show are numbered after Capital FM decided not to renew her contract.
It was not only Anita Nderu who was shown the door. The entire crew of Anita Nderu, Tracy Wanjiru and DJ Jo Kisila will no longer be part of Hits Not Homework.
While the radio station has not fired them from the company, the decision not to renew the contracts was guided by the controversies that marred Anita Nderu's hiring and their failure to deliver like their predecessors.
Tracy Wanjiru has been moved to the Saturday Breakfast show. The radio station is yet to assign Anita Nderu and DJ Jo Kisila new roles. Anita Nderu was previously a news presenter.
The crew was doomed to fail right from the start as many contenders of the Capital One auditions cried fowl. Anita Nderu was part of the judges that ran the auditions and she still got the job.
There were numerous complaints on social media that the show was going down the drain because of the inexperience of the new hosts. Many fans of the show felt that Anita Nderu was too boring and was not relatable with.
The predominantly hip hop show saw its ratings tank massively as the hosts chose to make it an extension of Instagram banter. It was not even three months before it became a ghost of its former self.
Anita Nderu as the senior most presenter in the show failed to live up to the expectations. The glory brought to the show by seasoned presenters like Joey Mutheingi, Amina Abdi Rabar, Eve De Souza and Soulo.
While Capital FM's programmes controller, Michael Waithaka decided to take a more diplomatic approach in explaining the situation saying the show needed direction, it is very clear that Anita Nderu was axed to save a show that was its lowest ratings since inception.

Ethic's most famous and sought after musician Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice found himself in a bad situation when a mob rained on him with blows and stones after he was allegedly caught stealing from a block in Umoja Innercore.
In a video widely shared on social media, Swat Mtoto wa Eunice can be seen writhing in pain and begging the people beating him up for mercy.

The ads released by Airtel directly targeted Safaricom with green imagery that depicted Safaricom siphoning data from their clients after selling the data to them.
Apart from the video ads, Airtel has also placed billboards across the city showing a red apple and another green apple that's bitten to almost half.

Kenyans have been having fun with the ads saying that Airtel has stepped up their game. Skeptics still feel that Safaricom will always be ahead of Airtel as long as Airtel has weak network connections and slow internet.
