Grisly Crash Claims Life Of Kenyan Star Athlete, Nicholas Bett
Bett, born on 14th June 1992, died in a road crash, barely a day after returning from the continental championships in Asaba, Nigeria.
His car hit bumps and rolled into a ditch at Sochoi area on Eldoret-Kapsabet road. It is said that he was alone at the time and his body was then taken to a morgue in Eldoret.
In 2015 Nicholas Bett was the first Kenyan to win a gold in the 400m hurdles during the world competition that was held in Beijing, China.
He triumphed in the 400m hurdles finals at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing in 47.79 world leading time and beat Russia’s Dennis Kudryavsten.
Sports CS Rashid Echesa condoled with the family of the athlete and Kenyans on Twitter also expressed their shock and grief.
