Fatou Bensouda Desperately Tries to Guess Password to Gain Access to USA after Cancelled Visa

Ms Fatou Bom Bensouda is a sad woman after her attempt to take on the United States ended badly. The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor has had her visa to the US cancelled. This is after she initiated proceedings to look into war crimes by the US in Afghanistan.

This move to revoke her visa is believed to be America's move to show that they do not approve of the investigation that might uncover crimes against Afghani locals.

Earlier, the US secretary of state Mike Pompeo said:

If you're responsible for the proposed ICC investigation of US personnel in connection with the situation in Afghanistan, you should not assume that you will still have or get a visa, or that you will be permitted to enter the United States.

The ICC Prosecutor's office insisted that her work will continue without any favouritism.

The United States threatened the ICC and said that it is prepared to even follow the economic sanction way if they do not drop the investigation.

Seven Year Old Kid Arrested By NEMA For Carrying Banned Non-Woven Bag

National Environment Management Authority is on the spot for arresting a seven year old kid they found carrying a non-woven bag. The authority has recently moved to implement a ban on the non-woven carrier bags that replaced the more toxic plastic bags Kenyans used.

The non-woven carrier bags were introduced in the market after the ban on plastic bags caused a huge shortage in bags used to carry goods especially from supermarkets and grocery markets.

NEMA claims that the quality of the non-woven bags has been compromised and thus they must be stopped from circulation and anyone found using them could face up to two years in prison and/or a fine of two million shillings.

The bags will be replaced with carrier bags made from reed, cotton, sisal, recycled plastic material, recycled paper, papyrus, woven plastic bags, hyacinth, and hard plastic.

A Twitter user @GasManKip narrated how his seven year old neighbor was arrested by NEMA officials after they found him carrying the non-woven bag.

This has elicited angry reactions from Kenyans who feel that NEMA is being inconsiderate in the implementation of their ban considering the fact not everyone is aware of their directive.

Many Kenyans also feel that NEMA should focus on those manufacturing the bags and distributing them in large scale. When the production and distribution of the bags is halted, according to Kenyans, they will eventually fade out.

Uhuru Kenyatta: I Will Not Fire Any Cabinet Secretary

The president Uhuru Kenyatta has disappointed a huge number of lobbyists and media houses that had expected him to publicly fire cabinet secretaries or at least announce his intention to sack cabinet secretaries involved in corruption scandals.

The president, during his State of the Union address to Parliament on Thursday afternoon, he had been under immense pressure to sack prominent people in his government. He admitted to having being asked about the same by many people.

President Uhuru Kenyatta declared that no narrative pushed by anyone in the media would make him to show anyone the door without any basis or evidence that they were involved in looting of public funds.

He urged the Judiciary not to stand in the way as he extended his war against corruption to members of the Judiciary.

The president also announced his intention to not relent in his bid to unify the country through the building bridges initiative saying a fund would be set aside to compensate those who had gone through atrocities committed by state and other forces.

During an explosive interview with Jeff Koinange last night, the governor of Machakos County Dr Alfred Mutua did not mince his words in accusing the leader of the majority party in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen of lying to Kenyans about the issues surrounding the construction of Thwake Dam in Makueni.
Kipchumba Murkomen had earlier taken to Twitter to demand equal prosecution of those stealing public funds saying that only his county was being targeted and yet there was a dam in Ukambani where money was paid in advance before the commencement of construction.

The governor of Samburu County HE Moses Kasaine was arrested by the EACC over a fuel supply scandal involving his county government. The scam has reportedly led to the loss of almost Sh90 million of public funds.
Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission arrested the governor on Tuesday morning and is currently being held at the Integrity Center, the headquarders of the EACC.
Moses Kasaine was pounced on at his Nairobi home in the early hours of the morning in a crackdown that was well coordinated.
This is coming just hours after Noordin Haji ordered the prosecution of the governor, his deputy Julius Leseeto, businessman Hesbon Ndathi, and 11 sitting and former ex-chief officers.
Oryx Service Station, a gas station owned by Moses Kasaine and a Mr Ndathi, were given a tender to supply fuel to the county government.
The governor is in the process of being released on a Ksh10 million bail after the court reduced the earlier figure of Ksh100 million.
A section of Samburu residents took to the streets to demand for his release claiming that he is an elected leader, not appointed, and thus deserved more respect than he was currently being accorded as a guest of the state.
The residents, through posters and leaflets, have chosen to blame the handshake for their governor's troubles saying the handshake between president Uhuru and Raila Odinga has only brought confusion in the country.

Uhuru Forms Tribunal To Probe Judge Who Opposed Cancellation of His Presidential Victory

President Uhuru Kenyatta has formed a seven member tribunal led by Justice Alnashir Visram to investigate the conduct of Supreme Court judge Justice Jackton Boma Ojwang. 

Justice Jackton Boma Ojwang' has also been suspended from exercising the functions of his office with immediate effect.

Through a gazette notice, Court of Appeal judge Justice Alnashir Visram will lead members including Justice (Rtd.) Festus Azangalala, lawyer Ambrose Weda, Andrew Bahati Mwamuye, Senior Counsel Lucy Kambuni, Sylvia Wanjiku Muchiri and Amina Abdalla in the tribunal.

The president acted upon the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission. According to the Constitution of the land, Professor Jackton Boma Ojwang' stands suspended from office.

Professor Jackton Boma Ojwang' is facing allegations of corruption in delivery of judgements and being a partial arbitrator. He is also being accused of having a suspicious relationship with Governor Okoth Obado and the county that he heads, Migori County.

In one of the complaints seen by Daily Updates Africa, Professor Jackton Ojwang's is accused of giving a ruling on Sony Sugarbelt for which a road to his rural home was built and lights installed on the same road.

Jackton Ojwang' is not the first judge of his rank to find himself in such a situation. The first deputy chief justice Nancy Barasa was found guilty of gross misconduct and fired when she was involved in a brawl in which a woman's nose was pinched.

Sam Gichuru Feels That No Company Should Pay You As An Intern, Take A Loan Instead

The chief executive and founder of Nailab, a leading Kenyan business incubator, accelerator and seed-fund, feels that you should not be paid during your period as an intern in any organization.

According to Sam Gichuru, an intern you should be able to fund yourself and try as much as you can to learn from the business instead of expecting a pay. He even suggests that you, wait for it, a loan if you can't afford your maintenance!

"Let's talk about paid/unpaid internship. The founder/ CEO of @herdy_co was my unpaid intern, after internship (3 months) he started his company & today hires over 10 people, servers over 1000 customers monthly. I also invested in his company.

It's just been 36 Months. He is not the only one who interned at @thenailab and today is running their own company or have very good jobs. Some were paid some unpaid.

If he had asked for pay, I would not have given him a chance. He was actually very specific, he said No Pay. My suggestions if you're at home or on twitter getting angry about unpaid internship.

1. Have a mission.
Find a company that is week aligned with that mission & offer your service for a period of time (3 months). Your plan is to learn, connect, impress, etc in 90 days.

2. How to finance your internship.
You need about 200 bob a day for fare 25*200 = 5000 . Carry your lunch (most of us do). It's the same amount you need to go to college in town. Get Mshwari, ask parents or friends to finance your internship and give a repayment plan.

3. In that office, find needs you can fulfill beyond your internship.
Most offices, you can ask permission to bring Ndaos and cakes to sale to staff members and it will be okay. Derrick sold us Rabbit meat. Go to @herdy_co today and you can still order for meat.

4. Finally know when to quit internship.
Quit when you have e learned all you need. The company does not owe you a job automatically after internship, actually if you're good and free they will just keep extending it 🤷🏿‍♂️. They're out for profit usually not fairness.

5. Of course you have the choice to stay on twitter and complain about exploitation by company's that don't pay internship.
If you're looking for internship you're probably 20 - 26 yo, it's the growing up age, post teens. Everyone has a plan, get a plan and sweat it out. Critical age to realize that nobody owes you anything, not even bare minimum.

Not everybody is going to get that internship leave alone fare but you can try or you can complain. 💯 You will have many short term supporters/retweets if you complain.

Lakini hali haitabadilika. Most SMEs don't have budget to hire you, even 5000pm can strain a company's runway. But they have knowledge, have networks (employees, customers, supplies), have resources, internet/computers etc. Your opportunity is here. Invest in yourself to access those resources.

Finally, this is an unpopular opinion but there is absolutely no downside in trying these, only upsides. I just gave the example of one intern, I can give examples of all interns who have worked with us 2/3 have either started a successful company or have exceptional jobs.

I like the comments, even the insults provoke more people to read the thread. Wewe ndiye unayejua hali yako, if you're at the end of the rope, try something different like this, if it doesn't work after 3 months, you will have made new contacts and learnt a lot.

One more thing, there is always companies looking for sales all over, if you can't get that internship, get a sales job, chances it will be a commission only job and that first month, you have to find a way to survive. Sale like your life depends on it, it does then grow."

Xenophobia. Lazy South Africans Do The Unthinkable Again, Killing Fellow Africans For Being Hardworking

Despite frantic calls by Julius Malema to his countrymen to stop killing fellow Africans and blaming them for their own unemployment problems, the president of South Africa has recently beaten drums of war that echoed across the townships of South Africa and now his foot soldiers are acting.

The president Cyril Ramaphosa had earlier warned everyone without a trading license that they would not be allowed to operate in South Africa regardless of where they came from.

These sentiments with the most powerful man in the country are said to have been interpreted by the locals as a call for the expunging of all African foreigners South Africa and violent fights have been reported in Durban and other places in the past few days.

Images and videos shared on social media are very disturbing and hard to watch. Citizens from other countries in Africa are being beaten to death in the streets and their property looted or destroyed in total disregard of human rights.

According to Twitter users whose Tweets we have sampled, South Africans are generally known to be very lazy but they still blame foreigners for their the high unemployment rates in the country.

Many people who have traveled to the country depict a slow nation. One that is reluctant to wake up in the morning, and always eager to go back to bed in the evening.

Unfortunately, some South Africans have tried to justify the violence saying that locals should be given priority when it comes to allocation of business permits and employment of the workforce.

Heartbreaking. Woman Breaks Down As Her Sister Battling Cancer Is Chased Away From Hospital

A hard to watch video shared on social media shows a woman crying helplessly as her sister is chased away from hospital for lack of money. The sister has been battling cervical cancer for a year now according to the lady.

In the video, the lady is seen crying and leading her sister away in despair as the hospital won't admit her if she cannot pay the medical expenses.
The video, whose date of origin cannot be traced by Daily Updates Africa at this moment has gained traction on Twitter with Kenyans asking the government to intervene.

Disaster As Clueless And Uncultured Influencers Rape Whitecap Beer In Every Unimaginable Way

East African Breweries Ltd flew out Twitter influencers to Diani to launch some brunch event to be occasionally held in Nairobi and Mombasa and as usual they went out of their way to impress the company paying them for the promos.
The season two of White Cap Big Brunch saw the company collaborate with different restaurants across the city to offer a unique experience to the lovers of the lager.
Only problem is that the influencers are heavy vodka and whiskey tankers who rarely even sit anywhere close to the smell of beer. So in their own wisdom they did things to the beer. Things that lovers of Whitecap have never seen coming.

What's Raila's Role In Government? Shocking Details From Uhuru Ruto Lunch Meeting Revealed

While thinly veiled as a sign that Uhuru Kenyatta was extending an olive branch to the deputy he is supposed to endorse in 2022, the meeting that took place at Harambee House Annex was nothing close to a date between friends.
Interviews conducted by the Nation with those familiar with the events of that day paint a picture of a president determined to put corruption to its deathbed no matter the political consequences those actions will bring.
According to the Nation, the president visited the deputy president Dr William Ruto to prepare him psychologically for the sandstorm coming in the coming weeks as a direct result of corruption within government.
There is credible talk that Kenyans will witness, in the month of April, the prosecution of three cabinet secretaries at a go for their roles in various corruption scandals that have rocked the government of Uhuru Kenyatta and tainted its name in ways some say are irreparable.
The sacking and consequent prosecution of three cabinet secretaries will have far reaching political consequences and cause imbalance in the delicate political equation that the duo has struggled to maintain over the past six or so years.
Before leaving the country for Morocco, former prime minister Raila Odinga met president Uhuru Kenyatta at State House. Details of the meeting have been largely kept secret and nobody really knows what the two discussed.
The president is expected, at the coming State of the Nation address to Parliament, to send the strongest signal that he is determined to fight corruption to the bitter end.
During his meeting with Dr William Ruto, he asked his deputy to join and support him in fighting the vice. He asked him not to take things personally when high profile arrests take place in the coming weeks.
President Uhuru Kenyatta also took the chance to rubbish claims by politicians from the Rift Valley that DCI George Kinoti was being used by powerful people in the country to wage a selective war against corruption. Oscar Sudi has on numerous occasions directly pointed an accusing finger at DCI Kinoti.
