Former Kibwezi West member of parliament Kalembe Ndile has died at the Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with Liver cirrhosis, the family confirms with Daily Updates Africa.
The body of the politician who was 57 years old at the time of his death is currently being transported to Lee Funeral Home.
Kalembe Ndile's son who identified himself as Kioko confirmed his father's death and promised that the family would give more details later.
Kalembe Ndile was the party leader of Tip Tip Party which was folded to form the bigger Jubilee Party as a preelection pact with the then presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta.
He unsuccessfully contested the Mavoko Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2017 general elections.
Many leaders led by Raila Odinga, Machakos governor Alfred Mutua have sent their condolences to the family.
The former prime minister described Kalembe as a charismatic leader with exceptional grassroots mobilization skills who also cared deeply for the underprivileged.
