Comparing Japan To Kenya Is Illiteracy, Says Kenyan Economist

Comparing Japan To Kenya Is Illiteracy, Says Kenyan Economist
Kwame Owino is the chief executive Officer of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA-Kenya), a public policy think tank based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Right after the fiery exchange that took place during the Presidential interview on Friday, a video surfaced online of an economist explaining why it does not make sense to compare Kenya's and Japan's debt. During a session of Press Pass on NTV earlier this year, the panel dissected the public debt argument. Mr Kwame said the argument shows illiteracy in economics.

Many within the government argue that Japan has a higher debt to GDP ratio than Kenya. Furthermore, they say that debt is not bad so long as it is used well. However, due to the graft and corruption levels in Kenya, incurring more debt is not a good move.

'Anybody who makes that argument either does not know what they are saying, or they are lying. Japan is not Kenya.'
'So throwing that argument at us means you are either illiterate in Economics (I say that with due respect) or you are trying to throw us a red herring (lying).

He further adds that Japan borrow and repay in their own currency while Kenya repays loans in US dollars. Moreover, Japan's loans are repayable in 101 year terms while Kenyan loans are repayable in about 30 years or so. Japan also repays its loans at 3% while Kenya repays at twice the rate.

Mr. Kwame was speaking during an interview at Press Pass in February.

Watindata! Did You Know This Tribe From Paraguay Trace Their Roots To Kenyan Kambas?
Ken Wa Maria -Famous Kamba Musician during a past event
The Kamba ethnic group in Kenya are known for their beauty and unmistakably intense beats in their music. Comedians claim that their music start at a climax due to the intense rhythm that they start with. As per history, the Akamba were renowned long distance traders in Kenya, traversing from Ukambani to the coast of the country. Sources say that 250 Kamba spearmen accompanied a Uruguayan general and settled in present day South American country of Paraguay. The year was in the 1820s.

According to Wikipedia;

Also, with the arrival of Artigas' also arrived, curiously, people of Kamba ethnicity, a Kenyan ethnic group, from Uruguay, who settled in Paraguay in the 1820s.[5] They arrived in a regiment of 250 spearmen, men and women, who accompanied General Jose Gervasio Artigas, the revolutionary leader of the now Uruguay, in his exile in Paraguay.[1] The Kamba Cua were dispossessed of their land by General Higinio Morinigo in the 1940s. Of his 100 hectares they stayed with 3 hectares.[6]
The group had two subdivisions known as Kamba Cua and Kamba Kokue.

 Blogger Owaah also delved in to the topic and researched on the tribe. In his analysis;

Still, the community’s music has become its most notable voice. It is, much like that of the Kamba of Kenya, identified with drumming and accompanying dramatic dance. The polyrhythmic drum beats are graced with energetic leaps and even at times, somersaults. At the heart of this revolution is a renowned dance group called Ballet Kamba Cua led by a man called Lazaro Medina.

Hilarious!! Camera Captures Woman Crawling Behind President Kenyatta During Interview

Hawk-eyed Kenyans noticed a woman crawling behind President Kenyatta during the interview that beamed live on major TV channels in Kenya on Friday. Daily Updates believes that the woman was either a member of the media or the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU). She must have been trying not to appear in the camera frame. This did not work out.

President Kenyatta addressed a panel of journalists while at Statehouse in Mombasa. The major topics addressed were his big 4 agenda and the fight against corruption.

I'm Not In Japan. Mark Masai's Comment That Made Him Hero And Villain

On Friday evening, during the Presidential Round Table interview, one bold exchange of words caught the attention of Kenyans. Journalist Mark Masai was asking questions about Kenya's public debt when President Uhuru Kenyatta decided to take him head on. The President tried to pin him on the lack of expression of numbers like an economist. That's is when Mr Masai bit back,saying he was not in Japan.

In the wake of a ballooning public debt in the country, many have raised concerns on the amount of debt Kenya takes. Furthermore, what hurts most Kenyans is how the borrowed money is still lost to corruption.

Flashback 2018: The Day Mike Sonko Became A Mzungu

Governor of Nairobi Sonko

We believe that in order to measure up as Governor of Nairobi, he had to change his mannerisms and dress in suits. Daily Updates takes you back to a day that Gideon Mike Mbuvi Sonko, perhaps, took his learned 'poshness', too far. The day the word 'city' lost the 't' in it.

On November 26, the second day of the Blue Economy Conference in Nairobi, Governor Mike Sonko took to the podium to address the audience. As boss of Nairobi, it was per protocol for him, as host, to address the delegates that attended from all over the world.

Dressed in a navy blue suit, blue shirt and tie, the man whose political career is nothing short of miraculous stood to read his speech. His boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, watched from his seat.

'Your Excellency, The President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyarrrra....'

Wait. We know our Governor. Last we checked he calls his boss, Kenyatta, with a 'T'.
What's going on? 👀

He goes on to acknowledge all dignitaries present and we keep watching, believing the first was just a mispronunciation.

'Nairobi, is proud to be the first cirry in the world to host this important and exciting conference'

This is where we realize that this is no joke. Our Governor has a new accent.

'The name Nairobi means 'a place of cool warrrers in our local Maasai language.'

Oh Goodness! Did he just bling the word 'waters'? Oh yes, he did. This is no longer a joke.

'Nairobi, is also the home to two United Nations headquaras, UNEP and UN Habitat..'

Okay, guys. This is real now. I repeat. This is NOT a drill.

😂 😂 😂 😂 It did not stop and we had our fair share of 'cirry' and other blinged up words in the speech.

For flashback's sake, here is the video;

Lilian Muli and Jared Nevaton Ombongi

The Star reports that Jared Ombongi Nevaton was in two marriages at the same time while in the United States. Lilian Muli's ex was even reported to a court of law for the offence of Bigamy, where he married another woman while married already. He hit the Kenyan headlines a few days ago when Lilian Muli complained of his lies and called him 'community husband'.

According to the report, the court did not believe his story.

One of his American wives accused him of bigamy and it made matters worse when he was caught pants down.

The immigration judge in the ruling said, "Ombongi's explanation for his bigamy puts his credibility as a witness in doubt."

According to the article, Jared married Heather Mae Rice in 1993. A year later, while still married to Ms Rice, he married Layle Marie Kobow.

Ms. Kobow filed a visa petition on behalf of Ombongi but reported him to authorities when she found out that Ombongi was still married to Rice.

In her letter to INS, Kobow alleged that "she did not have marital relations with Ombongi, that she did not know where he was, and that the marriage had been arranged by a friend with the understanding that Ombongi would help her financially."

Ombongi and Kobow divorced in 1997, then he divorced Rice in 2001. Interestingly, Ombongi married a certain Morris on November 2, 2001.

Mr Ombongi has since come out to deny the claims made my Lilian Muli. He says that Lilian was not supportive of their marriage. He also termed himself as a principled member of the church and cannot commit adultery.

Plot Thickens As Jubilee's David Murathe Tells DP Ruto To Retire By 2022

Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, David Murathe, alluded that DP William Ruto should retire if he does not want to support a referendum. Referendum calls have intensified over the last few months with many seeing this as the effect of the handshake.

Many analysts predict that DP Ruto will not have a smooth sail as he attempts to ascend to presidency in 2022.
Mr. Murathe said that the deputy president should retire with Uhuru Kenyatta after their service to the nation.
He added that the Kikuyu community does not have an MOU with anyone come 2022.

The Jubilee strongman, attended a public function in Vihiga for the first time and said that the party had no presidential candidate.
Because of an equal 50-50 share in government between the two, he said that there was no debt between Mr Uhuru and Mr Ruto.

The Curious Case Of Community Husbands Who Disappear During Festivities

It seems like the player a.k.a the Casanova has re-branded. His new name is the community husband and he has not stopped dishing out his goods to the womenfolk of the community. And as always, these women do not know. Most find out his ways after it is too late. Meet the men who create an intoxicating web of lies that captures the hearts of gullible women. Here are the red flags.

He will have babies with you. He will buy you expensive things. You will be blind to his lies and you will defend him to the death. However, at least for a time, you will not suspect that he is married or in another serious relationship.

Women are smart, and often read through the lies of men. In many circumstances though, the woman is caught flat footed.
A famous celebrity in Kenya realized it, albeit too late, that the man she hoped to share her life with was servicing other women.

While on paper they seem married, these men keep on frolicking with young beautiful girls all over.
They save the names of their secret lovers as 'Gateman' or 'watchman'. They conveniently go for business trips to fool their unsuspecting spouses. All for a nut.

Ask yourself these questions;
Do you know his parents?
Have you visited his rural home?
Do his friends treat you nicely? Have you even met them?
Does your gut suspect something?

Luckily, we were wired with an accurate gut feeling that acts as a compass in this matter. Problem is you always ignore it.

A tweep summarized her thoughts nicely;

New Husband Wanted After Lilian Muli Dumps 2nd Baby Daddy

She could not take it anymore. Celebrated TV star, Lilian Muli has laid bare the reasons she decided to dump her baby daddy, Jared Ombongi. She claims that the father of her child is a community husband and she explains how he entangled her in his web of lies.

Sociopaths Will keep you entangled in their web of lies and you will be one of their many victims. when you actually believe someone is true to you only to find out they are community husbands you are safer stepping aside.

Here is the post she shared on Instagram announcing that she is officially single.

Happy Holidays folks. I’m officially single and will now focus on raising my boys. As public figures we meet all sorts of people and most just want trophies whether you are well known or not be very careful who you allow into your life don’t go giving your heart to everyone. Sociopaths Will keep you entangled in their web of lies and you will be one of their many victims. when you actually believe someone is true to you only to find out they are community husbands you are safer stepping aside. Nobody should ever tag me in posts about Jared Ombongi who has previously been associated with me I disassociate myself from such links from today. As politicians say “I would rather die” than be linked to a polygamist! Narcissism is real. Stay woke. I speak out because no one will ever embarrass me again. People ask why put your stuff out there? Well it’s because next time you see Mr community husband don’t give him the credit of saying that’s Lillian’s man. I am actually very blessed I have two wonderful men in my life Joshua munene and Liam Francis and that’s all I need. #tooprecious#notcommon#knowyourworth#boraugali
