Ruto Ally Claws Back.Says Kenyans Should Prepare For Ruto's Ten Year Presidency

Nominated MP David Sankok has hit back at critics who said that Ruto should retire. He says that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy have an unbreakable bond. Furthermore, he says that the deal between Jubilee was cemented with a 10 year rule for both Kenyatta and Ruto as presidents. Tension has spread after some circles within the ruling Jubilee party claimed that there was no automatic candidate.

Mr Sankok said that they two leaders have a long history from the 2007/08 and their time at the International Court of Criminal Justice (ICC).

The legislator is known for outspoken nature and loyalty to the ruling party. He said that whoever thought the DP would not ascend to presidency was 'living' in denial.

Jubilee Party deputy, David Murathe, had spoken saying that the deputy president had served his time and should probably retire together with Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the midst of all this melee, DP Ruto has said that nomination and selection is besides the point and anyone interested in the presidency should be seeking it for themselves.

Kenya is still reeling from a double legged disputed election in 2017, that led to the loss of several lives as citizens protested the results.

The unrest ended when former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, signed a deal with President Kenyatta to work together for peace.

American actress Kerry Washington used Huduma Kenya Services in Kisumu and loved it. She even used the platform's website to praise the services and ask the provider to keep it up. This is obviously a prank by the site's webmaster, which sadly shows the comedy that goes on in Kenyan government websites. The comment is posted under the name 'Imgress' on the platform.

On further scrutiny, we see that all the 3 Kenyans had the same thing to say about Huduma:
"I got an amzing experience being served at huduma centre, keep it up guys...'

The probability of three people from Kenya's three biggest saying the same thing is 0.0000000001.

This is probably a crude joke played by the web developer.

Is Raila Meeting With Uhuru For A Cabinet Reshuffle?

On Thursday, Raila Odinga landed in Mombasa and sources say that he is due for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Sources close to the President indicate that today, Friday 4th might be an important day for Kenya. President Uhuru and Raila Odinga came to an agreement after the disputed elections in 2017 and promised to work together. Signs indicate that the meeting might be about a cabinet reshuffle.

In the handshake, President Kenyatta agreed to be more inclusive in his government, which might mean having more of Odinga's allies in the cabinet.

A subtle tweet by Oliver Mathenge, a known ally of the current administration suggested that something is in the offing.

A sensitive video of a drunk school girl in Kenya found its way to social media. The minor, who is still dressed in school uniform is consoled by a neighbour who tries to shield her from the public. The girl is heard saying that adults come to their house drunk and asks why she should not drink too. Kenya parents are on the spot for neglecting their children and showing them bad examples that lead to misbehaviour.

American Democrats Start Fight Against Trump's Wall, Pass Bills To Re-Open Government

The United States House Democrats passed a plan to re-open the government and ignore President Donald Trump's calls to fund the border wall that he promised during the campaigns. The government had been forced to a partial shutdown after Trump's fund demands were rejected.

The votes, that are clearly along party lines, folllowed President Trump's announcement that he would continue to fight for his campaign promise that saw him get to the White House. The border wall was to built along the Mexican border to stop immigrants, mainly from South America from gaining access into the country.

The Democrats plan to fight the shutdown as bipartisan talks continue. The bill to temporarily fund the Department of Homeland Security to February 8 was approved, 239-192.

Another bill, that would help fund the the Agriculture, Interior and other departments through Sept. 30 was approved by the Democrats  241-190.

Nigerian musician Burna Boy took to the streets of Instagram to rant and complain why the organizers of Coachella wrote the name of an 'African Giant' in small print. This is after Coachella announced that the musician will perform alongside other musicians in this year's festival. Fans keep raising questions on whether Willy Paul is a gospel musician or a secular artist. Some celebrities in Kenya have even predicted that the musician will switch to full on secular in 2019.

However, we cannot deny that Paul is a massive star in Kenya. His songs have amassed millions of views on YouTube, meaning his fans love his music.

Jubilee Party Set For Major Shake Up As Lobbying Intensifies Ahead Of 2022

A major storm seems to be brewing in the Jubilee Party camp as politicians take position and formation in the play up for 2022. With DP William Ruto setting his eyes to ascend to presidency in the next elections, comments by a section of the ruling party's elite are sending subliminal messages of their real views.

First, deputy party leader, David Murathe, suggested that the deputy president should retire together with President Uhuru Kenyatta. This was, of course, not his views alone as Daily Updates has reasons to believe that more party members hold this opinion.

Dirty Tug Of War As KNUT Rubbishes TSC Directives

The Kenyan education sector continues to be thrown is disarray as the Kenya Union of Teachers asks members to ignore TSC's directives. The union asked its members who got transfers from TSC to avoid reporting to their new stations as schools set to open on 2nd January 2019. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, KNUT Secretary General, Wilson Sossion announced the move. The meeting was not attended by the Teachers' Service Commission (TSC).

KNUT gave a warning to go on strike in the event that they do not agree with TSC in late 2018. Mr Sossion said that it was due to the employer's bad faith that they had decided to come to this decision.

In the last month of 2018, TSC announced that it had made transfers of over 3,000 primary and secondary school heads and many more teachers. Their criteria was to shift employees who had taught in a school for more than 9 years.

If all went to plan, the employer expected head teachers to shift by December 28, 2018 while other teachers have to move by 3rd January, 2019.

The main bone of contention between KNUT and TSC is about transfers, promotions, performance contracts and other details of work. Mr Sossion announced that he will go against a court directive that asked the union to provide a list of teachers it wanted promoted.

Super controversial Doctor Prophet Victor Kanyari is back on the airwaves. Pastor Kanyari, who went into the limelight after tricking gullible Kenyans went under for a while. A wedding in Nakuru turned chaotic when a six month pregnant woman stormed the ceremony claiming she was the rightful wife. She claims that the man impregnated her and abandoned her to marry another woman. In a move that anticipated the disruption, the groom hired police to bar anyone from entering the venue. However, the motivated and angry woman scaled the gate and got into the church. She was accompanied by her mother and relatives.

The unwelcomed guests came into the ACK  Jehovah Shammah Church in Nakuru. The groom, Dennis Kinyanjui Njenga was marrying Agnes Njeri Wangari.
The crowd claimed that the pastor was bribed to perform the ceremony.

'Ati anafanya harusi? Fanyeni. The woman, also named Agnes, said. The disgruntled woman said ,'Na apende asipende honeymoon tunaenda wote! Hio nyumba tunakaa wote.

Seems Dennis has a thing for women called Agnes.
Finally, Agnes Wanjiru (the disgruntled one) said that she is not interested in marriage. She just wants Dennis to take care of his child.

Ruto Thrown Under The Bus As Jubilee Declares He Will Not Be Automatic Candidate

The future of deputy president in Jubilee Party continues to be bleak at the party continues to make it known that they will not stick to the plans that were made before the general elections of 2013.
Raphael Tuju, Cabinet Secretary without portfolio and Secretary General of Jubilee party, has declared that William Ruto should not expect to inherit the presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
He said that the party has it's own constitution that provides the guidelines on how the presidential candidate will be chosen.
He further went ahead to insist that the party recognize the president as the party leader and the deputy president as the deputy party leader and no any other arrangement was in place.
Raphael Tuju says there is no memorandum of understanding that compels the Jubilee Party to give William Ruto the presidential ticket in 2022. He further said that if there is any MoU between the president and his deputy, it is their own arrangement that the party has nothing to do with.
Raphael Tuju is a very close ally of the president and anything he says run deep into the core of the president's plans.
Such utterances by Tuju echo the beliefs held by David Murathe who has not shied away from saying that William Ruto should retire with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
In the 2017 elections, Uhuru Kenyatta was in several occasions quoted telling his opponents to wait for him to finish his two terms, then wait further for William Ruto to finish his ten years before they could think of leading this nation.
Those sentiments have changed over time, even being quoted saying William Ruto was roaming around the country and that his choice for 2022 will surprise everyone.
William Ruto has made clear his intentions to succeed his boss and has been making plans to ensure that the succession happens with or without his party support. He has made inroads into places initially perceived to be the strongholds of both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and has made allies from all corners of the country.
The deputy president who recently earned a PhD from the University of Nairobi has point-men in the former Central Province and even in the former Nyanza Province.
It will be interesting to see how the events unfold in the ruling party as the rift continues to be apparent. Neither William Ruto nor his allies have made a response to the bombshell announcement by Raphael Tuju.
