Not once. Not twice but a considerable number of cases have popped up online where Equity Bank customers complain of theft either from their accounts or fraud propagated by the bank's employees. Scared users are now warning each other to check their balances in the bank. Just in case something happened. Is the mother hen eating her chicks?

From Sunday last week, suspicious posts appeared on social media raising questions on what was happening to customer accounts at the bank.

Daily Updates spoke to several IT analysts and sought comments on the security features of banking apps in Kenya. Four out of the five interview claimed that Equity Bank has the weakest online system of the major banks in the country. They added that the number of complaints seen in the news is proof enough of their claims.
