Fearless Police Buster Njeri wa Muthoni Released From Custody

After relentless protests on social media and visits to Kasarani police station by friends and family, the woman who recorded an incident of police harassment has finally been released from police custody.

Njeri wa Muthoni was arrested alongside other passengers of matatu they were traveling in and will be arraigned in Makadara Law Courts on Friday 8th. They will be charged with the offense of obstruction of justice.

Njeri took to social media to announce that they had been released after paying a cash bail of Ksh10,000 each. She also thanked everyone for standing with her.

Dear Kenyans of good faith, thank you so much for your support and prayers. My fellow passengers and i were released at around 6:00 P.M on a cash bail of Kshs 10,000 EACH. We are required to be in Makadara Court on Friday 8th, 2019 for the charges. I have been accused of Obstruction in execution of duty. Come one come all. We will fight this till the end. United we stand, divided we fall. Thank you Kenyans. I'm truly humbled.  See you all on Friday. Blessed night.
