Balala Defends His New Buddy Joho
In an unprecedented turn of events, Governor Hassan Ali Hassan's once harshest critic Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has now become his fiercest defender against distractors in the coastal county of Mombasa.
Najib Balala has lauded the beautification program rolled out by the governor some months back that has transformed the county from a filthy city full of uncollected garbage to a place the coastal people are proud of.
Through uniform painting of buildings across the city, and erection of bronze sculptures of wild animals in strategic places in the county, Mombasa has turned out to be a tourist attraction point for both locals and foreignors.
Environmentalists and tourism players do not agree with the sentiments of the Tourism and Wildlife minister saying that Joho's actions are detrimental to the environment and will not hold water in the long run.
The use of artificial turf and sculptures has elicited uproar saying the artificial turf is hazardous and suppresses the ecosystem that stretches into the Indian Ocean.
