Ruto Addresses His Rumored Fallout With Uhuru Kenyatta
When Uhuru Kenyatta appeared on a televised broadcast to release the names of those he had appointed to his cabinet, William Ruto did not stand by his side as was in 2013.
Many people read this as a sign of trouble in paradise. The Daily Nation ran a front page story detailing what led to the alleged fallout.
According to the newspaper with national circulation, Ruto was not happy with Uhuru's decision to include certain individuals in the cabinet since such a decision was going to be a deterrent to his ascension to power in 2022.
Ruto who has been largely tight lipped about the issue finally broke his silence on Twitter. He told his followers that people should let the president make his appointments in peace so that they are able to work on and deliver their manifesto as promised during the campaign period.
Trending NowKenyans, more so jubilee should avoid useless political debates about positions including 2022 and focus singlemindedly on delivering our manifesto voted for by the people while allowing the President the space to perform his constitutional duty to assemble the team for us.— William Samoei Ruto (@WilliamsRuto) January 7, 2018
