Uhuru Kenyatta Shuts Down All Schools And Universities Amid Coronavirus Fears

The government of Kenya has taken a major step in a bid to get ahead of the Covid-19 pandemic which is causing havoc across the entire world.

Addressing the nation this afternoon, president Uhuru Kenyatta ordered all primary schools and secondary schools to be shut down by March 18, and universities closed by March 20. This decree is aimed at reducing the amount of people in one place at the same time for long periods of time.

"We have suspended learning in all our education institutions with immediate effect" - President Kenyatta
The order issued by the president comes at a time when the nation of Kenya has three confirmed cases of Coronavirus. Patient Zero who traveled from the United States via London, United Kingdom, interacted with 27 people. Two among them have been tested positive and isolated.

The tests on the 28 people were done at the National Influenza Centre.
