Lorna Irungu Macharia Is Dead
Former Gina Din Group managing director and celebrated media and communications guru Lorna Irungu-Macharia has succumbed to covid related complications, Daily Updates Africa understands.

Lorna Irungu who had decades of experience in the media industry was a survivor of Lupus for 20 years and had undergone several kidney transplant procedures.
The husband of Lorna, Edwin Macharia confirmed the sad news on his Twitter handle with a Broken heart emoji. A look through his timeline over the past few days indicate that his family was going through tough times.
Many Kenyans will remember her as the host of the Omo Pick A Box show and a Nation FM presenter where she had a morning show dubbed State of the Nation for 10 months. The show shaped the politics of the day with a balanced moderation of discussions.
Lorna Irungu had a Bachelor of Arts degree from Daystar attained in 1996. She would then go ahead to have a stellar career from being the Marketing Director of Sharon Tours International, Entertainment Manager at The carnivore, morning host at Nation FM, Managing Director at Gina Din Group and a director at Siwa communications.
Just under a week ago, Lorna mourned the death of her friend Robin Njogu who died on March 16, 2021.
