Polycarp Igathe Back In Corporate World As He Lands Plum Equity Bank Job

Former Nairobi City County deputy governor Polycarp Igathe is finally making his return to the corporate world five months after his political career ended suddenly with his resignation from the deputy governor job.
Polycarp Igathe is set to be named chief commercial officer by Equity Bank in the coming days, an appointment which will be subject to approval of regulator Central Bank of Kenya.
Polycarp will have an executive role as the chief commercial officer overseeing the commercial strategy and development of Equity Bank. He will also manage compliance issues.
He was the managing director of Vivo Energy for close to five years before entering politics. Before that he also served as the managing director of Chris Kirubi owned Haco Industries.
Resigning from the deputy governor job, Polycarp said he had failed to earn the trust of his boss Mike Sonko and thus he was finding it hard to fulfill the promises they had pledged to the people of Nairobi County.
