The cyrptocurrency wave has hit almost everyone in all corners of the world but the world's richest man is not buying the idea just yet.
Bill Gates was asked by a Reddit user u/Askur1337 his opinion on cryptocurrencies during his Reddit AMA session.

Bill Gates went ahead to give an elaborate answer on the importance of government having the ability to find money laundering, tax evasion and terrorist funding.
He also says that the cryptocurrencies have caused deaths indirectly because people use them to buy Fentanyl and other drugs from the internet. When told that cash can also be used to buy Fentanyl, he says that the fact that you have to be physically present to make money transactions make it difficult for things like kidnapping payments.

Many people disagreed with the reason he gave saying that Microsoft products like Internet Explorer have also been used to distribute things hate messages.
The anonymity aspect of cryptocurrencies is something Bill Gates feels isn't good. In general, he feels like the speculative wave around ICOs and cryptocurrencies is super risky for those who go long.
