Kenyans had mixed reactions to this news. While many hailed this decision as brave and supportive of human rights of teachers, some saw this as a sure way of disadvantaging the children in North Eastern who have no one to teach them.
Here are some of those reactions.

TSC's Nancy Macharia is vicariously inciting other non-local professionals working in NEP to down their tools.— ℍ𝕒𝕤𝕤𝕒𝕟 𝔸𝕓𝕕𝕚 𝔸𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕤 (@Bunaires) February 26, 2020
TSC should've worked with security agencies instead of encouraging these teachers to vacate.
This fades the spirit of BBI, so Pres. & @RailaOdinga should intervene. pic.twitter.com/Jf2WQmRhop
I stand to endorse @NANCY MACHARIA. EDUC.. supplements the natural knowledge so ONE CAN LIVE WITHOUT SCHOOL EDUC.. HOW MANY ARE UNEDUCATED AND THEY STILL GOOD LIFE. Teachers sh’ld NOT 'trade' their lives in expense of providing services to children. Govt to employ LOCALS. https://t.co/vwjYNu8XCe— John Lokomol (@johnlokomol) February 26, 2020
Nancy Macharia is the same person who implemented a very inhumane thing called delocalisation. She should have seen through the political and ideological dangers, since she completely snubbed the family-related risks. https://t.co/7W9ax2pnG1— Murefu (@Kimutu_Kikubwa) February 26, 2020
Send tips, business inquiries and all else to dailyupdateskenya[at]gmail.comI'm not sure whether to support Nancy Macharia statement or not it's sad loosing 42 but Its the right of every Kenyan child to get basic education. Its the responsibility of the government to provide 24hrs security to its people #TSC #KOTLoyals2020— Mo Adan (@Activist_M) February 26, 2020
