University of Nairobi Closed Indefinitely In The Wake Of Police Brutality

University of Nairobi Closed Student Dead Babu Owino Police Brutality
The University has been closed indefinitely by the institution's senate citing security concerts.
The director of corporate affairs John Orindi said the reopening of the university will be announced at a later date.
This development is coming days after officers from the General Service Unit stormed the premises of the school and terrorized students in lecture halls and hostels.
Many were hospitalized and an allegation that a student died during the operation has been denied by both the university and the police.
Police boss Joseph Boinett said they were invited to the institution by the administration that had notified them of a situation.
The operation is widely seen as a move by the police to tame the students that had participated in protests to demand the release of their former student leader and now MP for Embakasi East Babu.
