Jacque Maribe Is Staring At Life Imprisonment With Wide Eyes

Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe is currently under the custody of police and will answer to criminal charges in a court of law on Monday. 

Gigiri Police boss has confirmed that they took Jacque Maribe in and she will have to spend the entire weekend in police cells. The police have not confirmed the charges they will prefer against her but it is quite likely that she will be charged with aiding and abetting a crime.

Daily Updates understands that a gun and a bullet was found in Jacque Maribe's house in Lang'ata estate and she was grilled about the gun.
Maribe told the police that the gun belonged to her boyfriend Joe Irungu and that she had warned him about keeping it in the house. It is almost obvious that she will also be charged with being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Joseph Irungu is a key suspect in the murder of now buried Monica Kimani and is being held in Muthaiga until Wednesday. Should he be charged with the murder of the slain businesswoman, Jacque Maribe is going to be entangled in the case even much further.
Should the police decide that Jacque was Joe Irungu's accomplice, she will be charged with murder. An accomplice under Kenya's laws is someone who knowingly, voluntarily and with common interest, participates in the commission of a crime, and can be charged with the same crime(s) for which the accused will be tried.
The punishment for murder is life imprisonment or death.

The mystery of the murder of the 28 year old businesswoman, Monica Kimani is as strange as it is twisted. The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs now say that they have no record of the employment of Monica Kimani in their database. This throws a spanner into the works as most reports, indicated that she worked for the Kenyan embassy in Juba.

Who started this rumour? Rumours are always almost based on some truth and it is possible that Monica might have joked to friends that she worked at the Embassy.

Her flashy lifestyle showed a woman who made good money and her father said that she ran the family business in Juba.

The main suspect in the murder, Joe Irungu, is also a man of mystery, as it is said he worked in Dubai and Afghanistan at some point as private security.

It is unlikely that the claim of employment at the Embassy surfaced out of nothing. Considering her revealed links with a senior official in the South Sudanese government, the story takes intricate twists that can only allude to a web of cover ups and falsities.

Breaking News: Jacque Maribe Arrested By Police

Embattled TV journalist, Jacque Maribe, has been arrested by police  following the emergence of new evidence in relation with the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani. Maribe, whose fiance Joe Irungu is still in police custody is connected to the murder in which Miss Monica Kimani was found dead in her apartment in Kilimani.

The Citizen TV News anchor is set to be arraigned in court on Monday to answer charges relating to the murder.

Gigiri police boss Richard Mugwai confirmed the arrest on Saturday evening and said she was taken to the station.

Mr Joe Irungu is still in custody after a Kiambu court ordered, on Wednesday, that he remain in remand to aid with investigation.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) wants to establish who owns the gun and a bullet, found in her bedroom and are now in ballistics for examination.

Maribe's car, a Toyota Allion, is also in police custody after it was dusted for fingerprints after it was discovered that it was in the murder scene at some point during that fateful night.

Monica was buried in her ancestral home in Gilgil on Friday afternoon.

Raila Odinga Will Run For President In 2022, Orengo Confirms

Minority leader in the Senate James Orengo has confirmed that Raila Odinga will run against William Ruto in the 2022 general elections.
Speaking during the burial of the former member of parliament for Rangwe Constituency Ouma Muga, the Siaya senator said that after all the sacrifices Raila had given this country, it was only fair that Kenyans reward him with the presidency.
James Orengo was speaking in the presence of Raila Odinga whom he said had fought for multiparty democracy and was instrumental in the promulgation of the 2010 constitution.

Financial Burden

Orengo who went against Raila Odinga's directive that ODM members support the fuel levy proposed by Uhuru Kenyatta also said that there is need for a constitutional review that will easen the financial burden exerted by the current constitution on Kenyans.
Raila Odinga did not confirm or deny Orengo's remarks but instead chose to urge Kenyans to remain united saying that the period between now and 2022 should be dedicated to development. He said that the country is on the right track following his truce with Uhuru Kenyatta. He said that Uhuru Kenyatta was fully committed to tackling the vices that have been ailing the country since independence.
So far it is only William Ruto who has confirmed through his own mouth that he will be in the race to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta come the year 2022.

PLO Lumumba Deported From Zambia, Termed A Security Threat

The Government of Zambia has today denied Kenyan legal scholar PLO Lumumba entry to their country for reasons they termed as "threats to security". In a report by Lusaka Times , a stampede ensued after disagreements happened and Mr. Lumumba was put in a plane back to Kenya.

Zambian authorities and Zambian media confirmed that the scholar was vetted and did not pass the required conditions to enter the country. The immigration department has the right to deny entry to any individual they consider a threat or not qualified to enter their country.

Prof. Lumumba was deported a short period after he landed at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon.

He was set to give a public lecture on China-Africa relations on Saturday night at Eden University.

The topic for his public lecture was “Africa in the age of China influence and global geo-dynamics.”

It is possible that senior officials in the Zambian government opted for this move due to the growing Chinese influence in the country.

😭😭Lights Out For KWS Ranger As Rhino Tramples On Him In Nakuru

An unfortunate incident at the Lake Nakuru Park has led to the loss of a Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) ranger who was guarding a rhino. Due to increased risk of poaching, KWS assigns rhinos to rangers who will keep track of the rhino as it roams around the park.

The deceased was attacked and trampled on by the rhino, which is classified among the most dangerous land mammals on earth. He was rescued and taken to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

Lake Nakuru's Senior Warden, Catherine Wambani confirmed the sad news and she added that indeed  it happened within the park.

Lobbyists have been fighting for increase in remuneration and equipment support for rangers as they deal with harsh conditions as they struggle to protect these precious animals that are our country's heritage.
Ms Wambani, out of respect, did not share the name of the deceases as the family had to be informed first.

Poaching incidents in the country are on the rise as illegal hunters up the ante to feed the hungry trophy market that is booming in South East Asia and China.
There have been several cases of rangers being attacked are not few and five rangers were awarded, posthumously, for their role in the fight against poaching.

The increased demand of these trophies has seen poachers acquire automatic weapons and advanced technology that is distorting the playing field for KWS rangers.

He was clad in military gear in this post.

The post was before he was arrested and replies on his timeline alluded that he could have meant he does not regret what he does for work.

Standard Digital reports that one of the replies in this particular post was by an individual closely linked to the Jubilee Party and sections of a well-known family in the country.

The twists and turns of the Monica Kimani murder saga continue as it turns out the main suspect, Joe Irungu is connected to a high profile network of individuals in the country. It is said that high ranking government officials visited him when he was arrested and he even mocked detectives saying the case was going nowhere.

That kind of hubris can only be fuelled by one thing: Proximity to power.

In a detailed report by Standard newspaper, journalists report that Irungu has a safe house in Buruburu where neighbours fear him. It was confirmed that during the last general elections, Joe Irungu was among the security detail attached to prominent Jubilee party politicians. Furthermore, his connections in Dubai and Afghanistan have reportedly arrived in the country to follow up the case.

A neighbour, speaking to Standard media journalists, changed their mind when he opted not to show where Irungu's house was in Buruburu. They recalled a case where an accident between a motorcycle and a Toyota Prado, Irungu was driving, led to the arrest of the bodaboda rider. The motocycle was then detained for close to a year.

While detectives continue to investigate on the connections in this case, several sources intimate that it is possible the case will crumble at some point. It is now evident that the slain Monica Kimani might have involved herself in dangerous connections that saw her murdered in cold blood.

The inter-webs of social media have become a hostile place for Kenyan leaders. This time, it was Mohammed Ali of the Jicho Pevu fame that got caught up in the nasty net. He tweeted that he was with Deputy President William Ruto in Nyali commissioning street lights.

KCB Accuses Central Bank Of Kenya For Negligence On NYS Fraud

In a bare it all report by a Kenyan daily newspaper, reports show that Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is accusing the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) for negligence that led to the misappropriation of public funds through the National Youth Service (NYS).

KCB, says that that they provided intelligence to the Central Bank of Kenya but it failed to act on the information, which led to the loss of massive amounts of taxpayers' money.

KCB adds that CBK is unfair by chosing to fine banks instead of admitting that they did not act on information shared to them two years before the fraud became public.

The bank is indeed surprised that the regulator proposes to penalise it in respect of transactions that the bank reported and provided a detailed suspicious transaction report (STR).

KCB further adds;

An STR that not only identified suspicious transactions but went further to carefully detail the existence of a network of related entities doing business with NYS in the sum of about 258 million shillings. 

The report was submitted to CBK in December 2016 yet the NYS II saga broke in  May 2018. This raises questions on the laxity displayed by the supervisory bank.

Murkomen, Gideon Moi Roasted By Angry Farmers In Forum Over Maize Scandal

You probably did not see this on mainstream media, but Senators Murkomen, Moi and Orengo faced the wrath of angry farmers in a forum where they expressed their frustration over the maize scandal that led to the loss of billions of shillings.

The farmers, mostly represented by elderly men, repeatedly expressed anger saying that it was better to die than to live in Kenya. "Heri kifo kabsa."

"Na wale wanatukula ni wetu tena" alluding that the persons they voted for are the same ones stealing from them.

They added that those implicated in the scandal only took a proportion of the billions lost and that the rest was taken by senior people in the administration.

"Murkomen nilisoma na babako in 1954"

"Nchi haiwezi endeshwa hivi ata nyumba yako?"

Na hii cartel mnasema ni nani ambaye hamwezi mtaja? ... Kwani huyu cartel ni mbwa mwitu?

The farmers now want the National Cereals and Produce Board to be decentralized from the National Government.

Monica Kimani Finally Laid To Rest In Gilgil

The remains of Monica Nyawira Kimani were finally laid to rest today at her ancestral home in Gilgil. This is despite the mystery that surrounds her death and questions raised about her lifestyle before her death. The sombre ceremony was attended by local leaders, family and friends as they bid goodbye to their daughter who died in the hands of savage killers.

The main suspect in the murder, Joe Irungu is still behind bars as police continue to piece together the events that led to her death. TV journalist, Jacque Maribe, who is embroiled in the mystery gave her statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as police visited her house to find more clues of that fateful night.

Drama aside, Vera Sidika is back to normal business as she visited Lodwar and donated household items in her quest for philanthropy. In a video online, Vera is seen handing over the items that include soap and other basic necessities. She is dressed in a s3xy figure hugging dress that drives the men around her crazy.

Vera is just shaking off a fiasco in which singer Otile Brown alluded that she had aborted his baby in the lyrics of his song, Niacheni.

She went partying after that and slowly the story calmed down as is with other stories about celebrities.
