Mike Sonko Drives Kiambu Senator Out Of Nairobi, Demolishes His Car Bazaar
The governor of Nairobi City County Mike Sonko has resumed his purge on developments put up on riparian and public lands this time targeting a car bazaar belonging to Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatang'i.
The demolition of the car bazaar situated just a few meters from Aerodrome Road and the railway line opposite Nyayo National Stadium was ongoing at the time of going to press.
Our reporters on the ground report heavy police presence at the site. A heavy traffic snarl-up on the busy Lang'ata Road heading to town is being experienced.
Julius Wanjau, the man heading the multi-agency team overseeing demolitions, has declared their intentions to bring down all marked buildings.
Mike Sonko recently asked developers with marked buildings to come up with a plan on how they would bring down their buildings at their own costs.
